. . . . Draftexpress is now convinced that Seattle is heavily leaning toward taking Lopez at #4 --it's long been assumed that Minnesota will take Kevin Love. . . . . assuming that the Lopez info is true . . . . (big if, but they are reporting that nearly every team they've spoken to expects Seattle to take Lopez, so it seems like there'd have to be a heck of a conspiracy of misinformation) . . . . that would give the Nets a choice of one among: --Bayless --Eric Gordon --Joe Alexander --Russ Westbrook --Danny Gallinari A choice of ONE--so there shouldn't be much hand-wringing. They could go in any order, I think. We all have our favorites among this group, but they're all apparently preferable to the remaining options after that point. Some of you like Gordon, some hate him. Same with Alexander and DG. I prefer Westbrook. I haven't been learning anything about Bayless, since I've assumed that he'd be gone. Regardless, I'd be pretty pleased with whoever is left among this group. --not to mention that the Nets would then be able to take a big at #21, as we've discussed. Maybe Hibbert, maybe Hickson, maybe Ajinca,. etc.

I could also envision two of the teams being locked into Alexander and Westbrook.
i'd be happy with any one of those guys... but i'd prefer bayless > gordon > alexander > westbrook > galinari
I too, see Bayless going to the Knicks. No way Mayo drops to 10. I'm still guessing we'll go with Gallanari.
I'm starting to like Westbrook now. At first I didn't want him b/c I didn't really think we needed another combo PG/SG, but he would be a great addition to the bench and look at what Stuckey did for Detroit. Plus, Westbrook excells in the transition game which is perfect for us and can play lockdown defense. I do think his athleticism is a lil overrated though.

I think the Nets would keep Westbrook or Gallinari, but if they are both gone, and they have to select one of Eric Gordon or Joe Alexander, I will bet they will draft him and trade down. No opinion on Bayless, who won't be there anyway.
My happiness is based on hoping for 3 of these: Marrrreeessseeee Speights J.J. Hickson CDR Rush Joe Alexander Dorsey mmm.......drooollllll.

First of all, that's awesome and terrible at the same time. I actually like the Sonics, they're my West Coast team. But they suck, and will suck for a few years, so it's okay if they take a chance on Lopez. The Nets, on the other hand, have a chance to be good. They should stay far away from Lopez. Second of all...wait, did the Sonics and Hawks trade draft picks or something? Wow. "Yeah, let's take a crappy big man! Screw point guards! Great draft!"
I came across a comparison for Westbrook to Antonio Daniels and it seems like a pretty good comparison: <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/--h_vX7SoGE&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/--h_vX7SoGE&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div> Their 2nd year college numbers are similar. They're games seem similar. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/daniean01.html http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Russel...ook-5062/stats/ Daniels was selected 4th in the 1997 draft: http://www.nbadraft.net/1997.htm
What about Keyon Dooling for a comparison to Westbrook? I always pictured him as the best comparison - okay shooter, good dunker, great defender.

Brook Lopez being a great interior scoring, will take alot of the attention of Durant, and give him more freedom in the perimeter.
If we get either Gallinari, Lopez or Bayless with the 10th pick I'd be estatic...as for the 21st pick I would love either JJ Hickson, Mareese Speights, Darrell Arthur or Donte Green would make me happy...
