(I'm super cereal right now!) and then there is sexist hatred towards Mutombo coming from Mamba. If you hate guys so much then you can be a eunuch and watch the WNBA!
kobe can't really say nothin' to shaq until he wins another title without the diesel...good chance of happening, but until then, he can't say nothin'
ESPN reported that Shaq got his two special police badges taken away due to the rap. Don't feel like posting the link, but its there.

I don't really think you can argue that. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Does anybody think the Lakers would have won if Shaq was playing instead of Gasol? Just curious..</div> I do. You've got to have an amazing team to win a title with Gasol on the roster. He's a bit of an enigma that way. He's one of the top 30 or so players in the league from a talent perspective, but he's not a great player to have for your team's chemistry. No defense, no heart, and too many negative emotions = no title. BTW - I love how everyone else is just figuring out that it's hard to win with Gasol. I was searching through archives the other day and found a post I made in early May of '05 about him - <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>While Pau Gasol may be the Grizzlies' leading scorer, I've been counting the days 'till his departure since he was drafted. He's a great player, but I don't want him as Memphis' <u>franchise</u> player. He's too weak, plays no defense, has no shot, isn't aggressive enough, and is always complaining. If we could pull in a guy like Gilbert Arenas or Rashard Lewis (just throwing random All-Star names out there), then I say go ahead and do it.</div> It's sort of like when Leon Powe had that great game in the finals and everyone was all over his nuts, acting like nobody knew where he came from, with sites like ESPN writing article after article about how Powe was such an unknown beforehand. I guarantee you most of this board knew all about Powe though. It's frustrating. </div> Some things are more important than titles, imo. First, assuming he had stayed and the Lakers had made it through the West, Kobe would always be tainted by Shaq's presence. He would have never had the years he had in 05-06/06-07, his most MVP worthy years. Plus Shaq wanted way too much to stay (Shape always cites 30 million a year or something), he would have probably hurt LA's future moves as well. Miami was fortunate to ship his contract to Phoenix at this stage of his career.
Now Shaq is going to loose his badges as a reserve officer. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shaquille O’Neal will lose his special deputy’s badge in Maricopa County because of language he used in a rap video that mocks former teammate Kobe Bryant. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the Phoenix Suns center’s use of a racially derogatory word and other foul language left him no choice. Arpaio made Shaq a special deputy in 2006 and promoted him to colonel of his largely ceremonial posse later that year. “I want his two badges back,” Arpaio told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “Because if any one of my deputies did something like this, they’re fired. I don’t condone this type of racial conduct.” Shaq was seen in a video posted on the celebrity news and gossip Web site TMZ.com rapping that “Kobe couldn’t do without me.” O’Neal skewers the Lakers’ star, with whom he won three straight NBA titles from 2000-2002 while with Los Angeles, for not being able to win a championship without him. “I was freestyling. That’s all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever,” O’Neal told ESPN.com Monday. A call to the Suns on Tuesday seeking comment from O’Neal was referred to his public relations firm, which didn’t immediately respond. Arpaio, who describes himself as “America’s Toughest Sheriff” and is best known for feeding jail inmates green bologna, clothing them in pink underwear, and making them work on chain gangs, said he didn’t expect his actions would teach Shaq a lesson. But he hoped he learns that as a role model who wants to someday be a full-time sheriff, he needs to know his words matter. “Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t think that either conduct should be out there publicly, even if media wasn’t there,” Arpaio said. O’Neal previously served as a reserve officer with the Miami Beach Police Department while playing for the Miami Heat. He also volunteered with the Tempe Police Department after being traded to the Suns in February.</div> http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-s...p&type=lgns
We're all fuckin bias on these Laker forums. WHat Kobe did was so fucked up, like seriously, even 4 years later, I have trouble forgiving him for what he said regarding Shaq. Honestly, he ruined Shaq's marriage and his life. Be a fuckin man and don't rat out your boy. He broke rule #1, and that's why a lot of dudes have trouble respecting Kobe or giving him his props. If you disagree with me, trust me, I know where you're coming from. But step back a little bit and realize what Kobe did. Am i saying Shaq is innnocent in all this? **** no, he still cheated on his wife, but for Kobe to leak it out like that was beyond wrong.
Uh, if Shaq's wife didn't know that Shaq was cheating on her, then she's an idiot. I think it's common knowledge that a lot of these NBA players are unfaithful, especially someone like Shaq. I don't think that ruined the marriage, either. She did her own cheating, too. Only Shaq was paying the dude to **** her, without even knowing it.
Nobody's defending what Kobe did years ago. Kobe used to be an immature little brat, I'll admit that, and I'm sure many other Laker fans will as well. But times change, people get older, people mature, and people move on. How old is Shaq now? And he's still bringing up all this crap from years ago? Personally, I think this was just a move to get his name back out into the media, since he's an attention whore.

It's funny people are banging on Kobe for being a rat .. allegedly. The conversation Kobe had with the sheriff who told the story was never even recorded or on public record. This sheriff had a track record of being an attention whore, so who knows what was actually said. Let's also not forget Shaq stole his ex-wife from his best friend. I'd say that's a worse man-card violation. Shaq comes off as a homosexual with those lyrics and appears like a scorn secret admirer who had his heart broken when Kobe rejected him. I hope the feud continues though, it's more entertaining this way. To answer Thrilla's question, no the Lakers would have still lost if they had Shaq instead of Gasol. The Celtics killed us with their high screen and roles, something Shaq could never defend. He'd slow the Lakers down even more on offense and teams no longer have to double team him so he's less effective on the offensive end.
