Well that is because they have to give minutes to Hinrich, Duhon, and Gordon. When he played with the Cavs in 07-08: 9% of the Cavs minutes at pointguard 15% of the Cavs minutes at SG 4% of the Cavs minutes at SF.
It might be because he told Bulls management he doesn't want to play PG and they didn't play him there.

He's awfully small and his college assist numbers aren't much better than Hinrich's or Gordon's (roughly 4.5/game). Beasley, Gordon, and Deng make a very nice 1-2-3 scoring punch, and it seems like Hinrich can finally be stuck at the PG position for good, assuming the Bulls take Beasley. This draft so reminds me of the Brand/Francis dilemma a few years back. At the time, I would have taken Francis, the Bulls took Brand. Neither panned out for the Bulls, but over the long haul, Francis is done and Brand may have a few years left at a very high level. Big vs. Small, too. You can't teach height.</div> I do have some reservations about him as well. I have to concur this time.

It makes sense due to the fact, he'd have to chase smaller quicker pgs a lot. I don't understand how Kobe made your "Pure SG list" when he plays 20% of the Laker`s minutes at SF. (1 quarter of his minutes) Mobley plays 19% of Clippers minutes at SF. (29% of his minutes), yet he made the list. Ben Gordon played 11% (or 20% of his minutes there) of the Bulls minutes at PG. He made the list. Michael Redd played 52% at SG and 15% at SF, (or 22% of his minutes at SF) and he didn`t make the list. Roy played 59% at SG, and 10% at SF. (only 14% of his minutes were at SF) How come he didn`t make the list Whereas Vince Carter didn`t make your `Pure SG list`when he plays 55% at SG and 17% of NJ`s minutes at SF. (1 quarter of his minutes at SF) so if Kobe, Mobley, Ben Gordon, and Larry Hughes are included as pure SGs, then clearly Michael Redd, Vince Carter and Brandon Roy need to be included.
Well it's a very vague system. I think using starting SGs in the league although not perfect gives a general idea of where he ranks among starting SGs. Which would probably be around 18-20th best in the league.
When I look at Yahoo Sports, it seems Larry Hughes isn't a shooting guard at all. He's listed as just a "guard" (G). Looking through the other teams, there aren't that many other plain old guards, so I guess he is, um, one of the best guards in the league Really, he should petition them and tell them he doesn't want to play PG anymore.

I used his stats as a Bull where he was a pure SG. But hey, maybe Duncan played a minute at SG, so you might rank him as better than Hughes, eh? That's the logic for saying that JRich is a starting SG who's better (he's about the same, IMO, and he's a SF these days). There's also things that stats don't measure. Greg Oden is certainly one of the better centers in the league, and he hasn't played a game. It's one thing to think a guy like Tyrus Thomas will score 20 and grab 10 rebounds per game, and another to know that a player is capable of doing it because he's done it.
Well I thought JRich was starting at SG, but anyway fine consider JRich a SG, but then Gerald Wallace is the starting SG if JRich isn't and I consider Gerald Wallace better than Hughes.
http://www.82games.com/0708/07CHA8C.HTM Wallace played 41% of Chalotte's minutes at PF. EDIT: I think he's a SF who can play some SG, though he's apparently a PF these days out of necessity.

Okafor also played pretty much all his minutes at C, I think he'd be more effective at PF.
