Regardless, Bird openly seeking a point guard either means he wants to get the word out that there is a changing of the guard in Indiana, or that he doesn't think the Raptors deal will go through and now he is making sure everyone knows that Indiana is looking for a point. In related news, Chris Broussard claims the odds of the Ford/O'Neal deal going down are 50/50. Arbitrary? You betch'ya!
I don't know how many Raptor fans agree, but I want O'Neal. I understand he's had injuries and some off court issues, but he's not going to be the number one option. He's a great defender and imagine him and Bosh. Bosh can move out for his nice jumper or dish it inside to O'Neal for the easy two. Those two can be a great team and both will make each other better. To get really optimistic, you have Bargnani at SF. Defensively, we're kinda screwed at that position, but on offense, we're golden. I think O'Neal, if healthy, can do what we want Bargnani to do, other then shoot. He is that guy I think we need to make us better. It all depends on his health and if he wants to get better. I can guarantee if he comes to Toronto, Bosh will take him out and make him feel welcome. I'm all for O'Neal, and I think you guys should be too.
Man, if Tinsley was as good in real life as he was in NBA Live 2006, that contract would be a bargain. He's an outside stopper, and a playmaker! O'Neal doesn't play inside. He's a jumpshooter who shies away from contact. IMO, that's not what you want to show Andrea and Bosh.
He needs that push to be able to go back inside. I think in Indiana, he's just not feeling it anymore. Plus, he doesn't always have to go inside. But, him and Bosh would be a great duo, if O'Neal is willing. Andrea, I think should learn how to play some defense from O'Neal. Cause the guy can play some good defense and while you may say he shies away from contact, the guy can still play. Grab you boards and get the job done.
Overrated, yea, sure. But I don't think we can doubt that he can't defend the post. Like, take Carter. He has an injury, but he came to NJ and had a great season. Now, he is a bit disgruntled, but you're all in prays he steps up. Well, I think the same with O'Neal. Except BC isn't Thorn so he won't give JO some huge contract.

His numbers aren't horrible, but there are a lot of cheaper/healthier directions teams can go in.

Vince played the entire season through an injury that required surgery in the off-season. Either he sits out, and gets ripped for being soft, or he plays, and gets ripped for his decline in play. The guy can't win.

I'll definitely admit that he manned up this past season though. I still don't think very highly of him, but its hard to criticize him for how he handled himself.
Why is everyone hating on JO? Hes an all star pf/c in the east. Hes in the same situation that Vince Carter was when he wanted out of Toronto. If he gets to Toronto they're probably the 3rd/4th best team in the east.

He's also a mediocre rebounder for someone with his size and 'athleticism'. 'Athleticism' that is disappearing with the mounting injuries.
