If the Nets do manage to pick him up I think it'll be a smart move on their behalf. I think CDR has good potential to be a steal a few years down the track

I'm with kobimel on Ajinca. He sucked at the league level and only impressed in workouts/special tournaments. That usually leads to bustation.

Wizards take 7-footer McGee at No. 18
    Thursday, June 26, 2008 09:27 PM

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The shadow of Nick Fazekas could only obscure JaVale McGee for so long.

The Washington Wizards selected McGee with the No. 18 pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

A 7-foot, 240-pound center who toiled in obscurity while Fazekas dominated the Western Athletic Conference for Nevada, McGee blossomed as a sophomore, averaging 14.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and a WAC-leading 2.8 blocks.

McGee ranks fourth all-time in Wolfpack history with 122 blocks despite playing just two seasons, and blocked at least four shots in 13 games last season.

Although he shot 53 percent from the field, McGee was a woeful 53 percent from the free-throw line. Long and athletic, he will need to add a little weight to be a solid center in the NBA.

His mother played in the WNBA, making them the first mother-son duo to play professionally in the WNBA and NBA.

ESPN says the Pacers also got Josh McRoberts in the Bayless trade. Yay.

McRoberts is from Carmel, where I live.

But again, I still think Indiana didn't get ripped off here. They earned a very solid player in Rush.</div>

Getting rid of his roster spot is big

You're right, I didn't even consider that fact. One less contract to deal with, one less roster spot taken.

It is my understanding Ajinca can really defend the rim.

A lot of teams were very impressed with him.

I'll defer to you guys since you are more familiar with him.

Dude, he started with Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez, my favorite foreign basketball team for years now and yet I don't even know much about him. You know how much I follow French sports. Charlotte are stupid.

Ryan Anderson can shoot. That's why he was picked.

    He's not really a big. He's a tall shooter.

In that case, it's a decent pick as long as we trade a big since our rotation is getting kinda tight at the 4/5.

Bayless is an absolute steal for Portland.

    PF from Cal

Can shoot and score. Needs to get stronger and work on his defense

Haha, we both watched the same story and got the wrong player!

    It was Ibaka.
