Koufos = steal and a good fit for Utah.

Donte Green still on the board, he'll be a MAJOR steal.

As for Anderson. I'm a Cal fan and love anderson. He was probably the best individual player in the pac 10 as a soph last year. That being said, IMO hes just too unathletic, not big enough, not strong enough to make it in the league. Hes got skills for sure and he was a fantastic college player but I don't tihnk this is a good pick.

I totally forgot about Donte Green. I'm not totally sold on him, but at this stage he's an awesome pick.

I think all the teams completely forgot about Darrell Arthur.

Nets continue to get bigger, grab Anderson at No. 21
    Thursday, June 26, 2008 09:48 PM

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The New Jersey Nets constructed their frontline all in one night.

The Nets, who took center Brook Lopez with the 10th pick, grabbed California forward Ryan Anderson with the No. 21 selection in Thursday's NBA draft at Madison Square Garden.

New Jersey, which lacked scoring up front last season, now has two players who can score with their backs to the basket in Lopez and Anderson.

While Lopez's skills have been well-documented, Anderson led the Pac-10 Conference in scoring last season at 21.1 points per game and also averaged 9.9 rebounds. He set a school record for points by a sophomore with 697.

The Nets also acquired 7-foot sharp-shooting forward Yi Jianlian - last year's No. 6 pick - for forward Richard Jefferson in a trade Thursday with the Milwaukee Bucks. The trade and subsequent draft picks were made partly in response to center Nenad Krstic's injury status.

Anderson has a similar game to Yi, showing an excellent outside shot. He made 41 percent of his 3-pointers and 87 percent of his free throws. He loves to spot up from the outside but can face up out of the post and score from there as well.

Yep, and he adds another shooter in the process. Nice.

Magic finds perfect fit in Lee at No. 22
    Thursday, June 26, 2008 09:49 PM

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Orlando Magic found a perfect fit awaiting them.

With the 22nd pick in Thursday's NBA draft, the Magic filled a desperate need by selecting shooting guard Courtney Lee of Western Kentucky.

Although not a household name, Lee was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year as a senior, when he averaged 20.4 points.

The 6-5 Lee scored 2,238 points during his four-year career with the Hilltoppers, and showed he can do it at both ends of the floor with 242 steals.

While his shot selection was not always the best, Lee connected on 40 percent of his 3-point attempts, which will fit in nicely with the Magic - the NBA's top-shooting team from the arc last season.

With J.J. Redick, the team's first-round pick in 2006, failing to pan out, Orlando had a huge void at shooting guard.

Lee has great athleticism and a well-rounded game, as evidenced by his 281 career assists and 78 blocked shots. He did not shy away in big moments, recording 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals vs. UCLA in the Sweet 16.

He's still smarter than Brook Lopez. Too bad he had to sit there so long.

Spurs will likely take Batum I bet, but I hope not to be honest. Even though I'm sure they can develop him extremely well, I'd prefer that he go to Portland right now.

Disagree that he is a steal as he went in the proper range, but yes he is a good fit

Don't see Greene as a steal at all as there are too many questions with his head and his game

Disagree on Anderson. At 21, the Nets could afford to take a role player that can shoot and is smart.

If Ibaka had fallen, who do you think the Spurs would prefer M21? Ibaka or Batum?

It was reported somewhere today that the Spurs sent an email to every other NBA team letting them know the pick was for sale
