please dont tell me you compared Magloire to O'Neal
O'Neal made the all-star game in Las Vegas so he still had a decent season then

We'll see. I don't think he's as good as he used to be, but I don't think he's nearly as bad now as many people think. Having our shooters should make his job a helluva lot easier for us and I'm actually anticipating his impact on our rebounding/post defense more than on our offense.

I didn't compare them as players, I was comparing the rationale for getting them: both teams, when acquiring them, used similar reasoning: "Well, if he comes back to how he was playing 3 years ago, it will be a steal!" Nets also used the same reasoning for Dikembe Mutumbo (kinda). I dunno, from what I've seen, big men don't normally reach new heights after dipping off in production for 3 years.

And Jason Kidd also made that All-Star game. Did you want Rod Thorn to trade for him, too?

Raptors used more the 3 year ago rationale to get JO. He, again, needed a change of scenery. He also blocks shots, something Bosh doesn't do as well. JO was the top option in that Pacer offense, now he's 2 or at times 3, depending on Jose. He'll get singled up, plus who knows how many minutes he'll need to play during the season. Hell, if Bargnani actually plays well to start the year, that's 3 7 Footer (generous i know) you can put on the floor, either together, or at different spurts. And BC didn't just make a move to make a move. TJ has a huge injury problem, Rasho is not that good in actuality, Baston is garbage to us and the 17th pick was going to be Robin Lopez, barring a major fall. We also get a 2nd round pick back, maybe that becomes useful, maybe it doesn't. Either way BC made a big move, and im happy he did.
