If we have traded TJ it must mean we have verbally agreed to a new contract with Jose Calderon. There is no way BC would trade TJ if we didn't have Jose's status secured. So... I guess we are spending our MLE on a back up point guard this summer. UFA's Sam Cassell Earl Boykins Chris Duhon Tyronn Lue Anthony Carter Lindsey Hunter Dan Dickau Smush Parker Jason Williams Royal Ivey Darrell Armstrong Jannero Pargo Carlos Arroyo Kevin Ollie Anthony Johnson Beno Udrih Damon Stoudamire Gilbert Arenas
I wouldnt necessarily go for a PG with the full MLE. Calderon can log heavy minutes as we saw last season with Ford gone, and the more minutes he played the more productive he became. Also if Delfino comes back then he definitley could handle the PG duty while Calderon is on the bench. ALSOO if Roko comes to Toronto this season he could prove to be a legit 2nd PG and our problem would be solved.

Duhon actually tried signing with Toronto a few years back when he was restricted and Chicago accepted the contract. I don't know how much Damon Stoudamire has left, Carlos Arroyo could work out, and maybe on Jannero Pargo.
I don't think Toronto will use the full MLE on a backup PG. Duhon could be had for half the MLE, I bet. Toronto would be very happy with him in limited minutes, and if you had to play him a lot of minutes, he won't be a huge disappointment. He's a streaky good shooter, but mostly a bad one. He really knows how to run a team as a pass-first PG and he plays solid defense.
Cassell had already said that he'll be back in Boston either way, as a player or maybe as an assistant.

We're not getting him for $3M a year, though.
Well, I don't think he was worth the $3M+ per year deal he got last time. He was an RFA and he got a bit higher a bid on him with the hope Chicago wouldn't match.
