I know most of us originally came from ESPN and still visit there from time to time, but does anyone have any trouble logging in? I got this problem where I try to post a message, but it sends me to this vague error page when it was supposed to go to the login page. I don't even know what the problem is and if it's IT related, then that's typical of ESPN's web developers or whoever they outsource to. Cookies and cache were cleared and plugins were disabled, hosts file was checked. I still get the same error.

So the only thing I'm thinking is maybe I got banned somehow. For what, though?

    Anybody have any ideas?

Are you banned only from the forums or you can't even login to your ESPN account?

Hi Shape, I can view all the messages in the forums, but I when I attempt to log in (this is any web browser and before I get a chance to submit my user/pass), it just redirects me to some global error page and I can't even diagnose what is wrong. Meanwhile, other people are still posting like normal... so it's weird... Maybe it has to do with some security or spyware software that's causing these problems... like maybe ESPN has some violating ads which constitute such weird web app behavior.

These days I just don't bother anymore. ESPN forums is the best example I can think of being badly managed forums in the past and seemingly very "microsoft" in how they relate to their users' needs. I didn't violate the rules over there, I don't think. Maybe they caught me over here and saw me talk smack about espn forums once in a blue moon. Who knows. That shouldn't warrant a ban, though. It's not like I diss them on their own site. I got the right to talk about how I feel about their services off site. It's not like they were lies or anything. Besides, I still use those forums to talk about my warriors even though I don't enjoy using their forum.

Let me check with another computer, because it very well could be anti-spyware causing things to blow up... but it shouldn't...

I tried to post and was directed to some "Disney" error message. I could not even hit the back button to return to the forum.
At the bottom of the page I went to "Help" and had to re-register my username by giving them my e-mail address. I then had to put in my user name, re-register my password and then had to read their new agreement. Once I agreed to their terms it seems to work as well as ESPN's forum can.

    Thank you so much,
I was getting frustrated about not having any answers. I'll try that. I just wish it was a little bit clearer as to what I needed and it sounds like maybe the agreement is the major hangup. Thanks again!

    bayareafan85 you are my hero!

Apparently, that agreement needs to be signed or else it will throw that unhelpful error message which doesn't tell you anything.
It can be fixed once signed in through here:
