    Marseille Consider Eto'o Move

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Barcelona are keen to off-load the Cameroonian international and alerted clubs in England and Italy of his availability, as well as selected teams i other European leagues, according to Sport.

Among those were a crop of top French sides and l'OM believe that they could have the pulling to attract Eto'o to the Stade Vélodrome if he leaves Camp Nou.

Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco immediately ruled out a move due to the asking price and the player's personal demands, a subject that has also deterred several English clubs.

Marseille know that the they would have a task to persuade him to join them, but they are in the Champions League qualifiers like Barça.

One stumbling block, however, could be the Blaugrana's asking price of around €40m which is a figure that is out of reach of nearly every French top flight side.

Then there is the matter of Eto'o's €4m-per-year basic wage demands, a sum that no Ligue 1 club has ever agreed to pay a player, but l'OM are working on a package.

Eto'o has stated on more than one occasion that his first choice would be to stay at Barça and he plans to hold talks with new coach Pep Guardiola when he returns from holiday.</div>

Oh yeah... He won't move to Tottenham, but he will move to Marsielle. Give me a break.

l'OM have a rich history. Eto'o stated years ago it would only be Spain, Italy or France.

I just don't see the rationality of him moving to Marsielle - Rich or not.

They have a good team though, and remember that both Ribery and Nasri have come out of Marseille.

Yeah, I guess. I still don't see that as a good move on Eto'o's behalf.

I do, especially with the immense TV contract that Ligue 1 has over any other league in the world. The league can only go up from here on.

How does their contract compare to the EPL?

When does it kick into effect? Asking as it seems more guys are moving out than in.

but Players going out of clubs isn't going to attract Eto'o or similar players. I rate both Ribery and Nasri very highly and Ribery is easily the 2nd/3rd best winger behind C. Ronaldo and possibly Hleb but most would argue he would be ahead of Hleb but my bias nature pushes hleb ahead of Ribery. Maybe if both Ribery and Nasri were kept by I'OM then he'd be tempted and see how promising I'OM are. But unfortunately (But fortunately for Arsenal and Bayern) their 2 best players in recent years have left.

But still even with those two players out, they're a very good team. They still got Cissé, Cana, Valbuena, and an up and coming star Hatem Ben Arfa (whos 21 and plays for France).

And like M21 said they got the tv contract.
