Sonics and Clippers swap first rounders

7 to Seattle, 4 to LA Clippers. Just saw it on ESPNNEWS.

 

Any other parts involved in the deal?

I want Bayless and it looks like he would be available at 7 anyway.

No other parts were mentioned.

 

Ford was talking about #4 for #7 and a future first from LA. I would imagine that is the deal.

 

I think the Sonics are assuming Lopez falls to 7 LAME

 

Either the Clippers are stupid and think Gordon or Westbrook are worthy of two first round picks...

or

They did it to force Miami to deal with Minnesota for Mayo and in return locked up Bayless at 4.

 

Good. That means Brook Lopez will be taken by the Sonics.

 

Thats still too much to give just to secure Bayless, IMO.

 

I think its a dumb move, considering what people like Chad Ford have been saying about Bayless falling.

We know LA wants one of Gordon, Bayless, or Westbrook and one of them would have been there at 7. So I agree this is a dumb trade, because it doesnt land them mayo.

Oh, okay. Cause IMO that's a great trade for the Sonics...whether they pick up Lopez or not (still crossing my fingers they don't).

Next year should be a better draft for PGs. They might even be able to pick up a natural PG. Presti's good.

 

ESPN just said the trade is dependant on who is available... Really I think that is pointless because mayo wont be there, so...

I dont think Gordon or Westbrook are worth trading up for. Bayless is another story, because I know the Clippers have interest and so does Miami. Miami could have moved down to 4 by dumping Blount for Wilcox and another expring to take Bayless. If that was close to being done it makes sense for the Clippers to do it if they like Bayless as much as I do, because then Miami is forced to trade down to 3 to take Mayo or take him outright at 2.
