Watching it. Rod wishes the best to Richard [IMG]

Yi's gotta take a physical [IMG] [IMG]
...but he's practicing with the China national team. So, IMO...likelihood is that he's in good condition.

Rod says Kiki was talking with Milwaukee. Sweetness.

Thorn didnt give us much for tonight. "Were talking about moving up, we could move down, or we could stay where we are"

Said the trade was more about Yi than anything.

    My thoughts V

So Love/Gallinari in a trade up, or Rush in a trade down?

    We need some 1/2/3's

Rod has no clue what the Clips are doing, but think Seattle's banking on the fact that Lopez will be available at 7.

Calls O'Neal a "premier big man". Hm.

On Gallinari (Mike butchered his name) : Has a chance to be a very good NBA player. Can shoot, dribble, has been playing against [older] men the past few years.

Will Hinrich be traded? Rod feels that Chicago has many assets that other teams covet, so they can go in many different directions. They may start him at 2...if Rose is drafted.

How bout OJ Mayo? He's a very good player, knows how to play, etc, etc, He should be a very good NBA player.

Says good things about Lopez, Love (especially Love), I can't type, listen, and think fast enough to keep up [IMG]

About the 10th pick - we're keeping the pick, but we're still talking to teams, and we can do many different things depending on what happens in the draft.

Also, Rod acknowledges that the trade was made with 2010 kept in mind.

I think Russo was closer to a car than any actual name

Ah so we have Kiki to blame for this BS deal.

I'm pissed off. They should have demanded the #8 pick. We are taking Simmons contract back after all. Even if it ends in 2010. I like getting Yi, but I HATE bringing back Simmons. Bucks took us in this deal.

    I really don't see how.

This trade met all of the criteria for what they wanted to get for RJ.

LA wouldn't give up Odom for RJ, and we go ahead and get a player almost 10 years younger and with higher potential.

The trade makes a ton of sense. But I think we could of at least swapped picks. A lot of the Bucks targets should be there at 10. A lot of our targets could be taken by the Bobcats

Moving up the two spots at the end of the lottery really shouldn't be a deal breaker, so if the Bucks refused then it's good the Nets went ahead with it anyway.

Its worth at least holding out for imo(a few hours), considering Skiles has a kindergarten crush on RJ.

Its not just the 2 spots, its who your ahead of. Being ahead of the Bobcats meant we could of held the Blazers hostage for something like Jack, Webster 13 and 27.

    Harris Jack
    VC, Webster
    Rush(?)CDR(?)
    SW, Yi
    Boone, Krstic

Or trade up for an elite talent

Then we should have given them Hassell and they gave us Mason to even things out. If we did that, I think I could have been OK with the deal. Barely.

RJ is coming off an 82 game season averaging 22 points, and we get an unproven young big man (although this is the one good part of the deal) and eat a 20 million garbage contract. Simmons is virtually UNTRADEABLE (sounds ironic after just being traded, but you get the idea). Hell even Marbury has more trade value. Bucks totally took us in this lopsided deal. It isn't Kidd or Carter-TOR level robbery, but it's still bad for us.

Simmons' contract doesn't really affect us that much, it ends exactly when we need/want it to (summer of 2010). We earned a proven swingman, let's hope he can reach his pre-injury form. As for Yi, as I stated in the trade thread I don't know much about him, he's an enigma to me and I don't judge players by their stats. I hope he can become a solid player for us.

Maybe the Nets plan on surprising and taking Rush at #10 and didn't need to move up.

Im sure RJ is going to love playing with Mason, remember those two getting into a fight in the past. That should be fun to watch especially with Mason backing up RJ!! [IMG]

Thorn has said that Yi has Nowitzki type skills, now how that translates over the next 2-3 years is anyone's guess. This trade was made to esentially guarantee some cap space in 2010. Done. This doesn't really bode well if you're named Nachbar or Krstic...unless both had eyes on a 2 year contract.

Yi and Simmons combined will make less than RJ the next two seasons. Simmons should be useful as a backup SF and apparently the Nets have high hopes for Yi.

This is a great trade for NJ. Yi is going to be great for us, and as for this knock on Bobby Simmons...I just don't get it. This is the move that will cut that salary away and allows Lebron possibilities to heat up.
