You know I normally respect your opinon but you're really starting to come off like a little bitch with all the whining about us passing on Bayless to take Lopez...

I'm so pissed at MJ for not taking either Brook or Bayless...if he had I wouldn't have to read all this whiny bullshit a lot of posters here want to write.
    </div>

I'm not sure the Nets would have taken Bayless.

We might be sitting here reading 5000 posts about Robin Lopez.

    Those would have been lovely.

lol well watch the georgetown highlights if you want to see fast break buckets, attacking into the paint, 3pt shooting, and defense. Watch the Love dunk if you just want to get giddy.

As a die-hard Memphis Tigers fan (Grizzlies SUX) I want to thank the Nets for drafting possibly the hardest working kid in the NCAA and soon to be the hardest working man in the NBA. The fact that you got him @ #40 is amazing, you guys are the luckiest stiffs in the world. When the Grizzlies passed him @ #28 I about blew a gasket, could not believe he was still there. Respect and take care of my man since no matter what you pay him, he'll earn every nickel of it.

You're welcome, Memphomaniac! I'm so glad we picked up CDR, that definitely made the draft sooo much better for the Nets. He'll be a personal favorite of mine from now on.

Oh, and welcome to S2! Be sure to check out the whole site, there's plenty of basketball fans around, including a couple Memphis fans. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions!

    Another MEMPHIS TIGER fan here.

You guys are gonna love Chris. HE'S A WINNER!!! Mental toughness from the streets of Detroit. Unorthodox style. The team leader.

Looks like an old man.,........but gets it done.

The City of Memphis loved him.

Great personality.....will represent the NETS with class and dignity.

CDR may never be a superstar but his talent and work ethic should ensure a long career in the NBA.

    Good luck

    PS....I used to live in Ramsey........RT 17.

The gist from most articles is that CDR had horrible work outs for other teams, that is the reason why he fell.

I just read that too, which surprises me because he is such a hard worker, usually those guys have great work outs. But Dave D’Alessandro said that CDR may have had the best workout of any player brought in by the Nets.

Another Memphis Tigers fan here. Grizzlies fan as well, but now will definitely be pulling for the Nets.

    Wow. CDR at 40. Un-freakin'-believable!

Ya'll are going to love this kid.

He's grown a lot in while at Memphis. He said coming out of Detroit he had an attitude. He's grown and learned alot under Cal. He's a respectful kid with a no-nonsense attitude.

He can flat out play. As mentioned previously in this thread, he was the best player on the best team in the country (OK, Kansas might have a slight claim to that [IMG] ). He was a 1st Team All-American and he earned it.

He's a winner. He doesn't accept defeat. Watch the end of the UAB game in Birmingham. UAB was up. Memphis had the ball. CDR wanted the ball. I wouldn't have wanted the ball in anybody's hands OTHER than him.

I can't wait to watch him play.

Also, per the bad-workout-reports, I think Cal addressed that adequately last night. CDR is unconventional. If you compare him to others he may not look as good. But come game time you've got a winner. Montana was a horrible work-out guy and his stock dropped, but he got it done when it counted.
