10. Brook Lopez - C - 7 ft. - Stanford 21. Ryan Anderson - F - 6'10 - Cal-Berkeley 40. Chris Douglas-Roberts - G - 6''7 - Memphis
Hated the Lopez pick, thought the Anderson pick was meh, LOVED the CDR pick. I was gonna make a thread like this, but I was too damn excited about CDR.
If you asked me yesterday would I be happy with Lopez, CDR and Anderson... I guess I'd say I was satisfied. But watching how the draft actually played out, I think the Nets could have jumped on several opportunities to trade down (specifically #21) and get extra assets.
I like all of the guys, I think we got good value at our picks, but just a B for passing on Bayless. A Bayless/Koufos/CDR draft would've been awesome.
Lopez is growing on me. Spent the past hour or so at my friends house watching video of Lopez and Courtney Lee, we both hated our teams picks but they grew on us. I can't give out a grade.
Loved the Lopez pick, liked Anderson (would've loved it but Darrell Arthur was still on the board) and LOVE the CDR at 40... Honestly if it wasn't for the RJ trade more fans would be loving this draft.
I'll give the Nets an A on potential here. Lopez, while Bayless was the best player, lopez filled a big need and will be a solid/upper tier center for a while. I'm not gonna lie, i didn't like the Anderson pick, not because of his ability but mainly because of our needs at the 2 and 3. At this point i might have given us a C or so in the draft. Then CDR falling to 40 is what pretty much made the draft. It made the Anderson pick look alot better and we got a steal that fits team needs.
Still a little peeved about passing up Bayless, but it's hard to criticize this draft. They got great value at every pick and filled a lot of needs.
I like the RJ trade, like the Lopez pick, feel good about the Anderson pick, and LOVED the CDR pick. I wanted to give this an A-. All in all it's a really good draft, but I'm also thinking that, without trades, we could have had Bayless, Donte Greene, CDR. WOW
Had we taken Arthur (a guy I ven wanted way back when at #10) with the #21 pick... we would have been 3 for 3 on the biggest steals of the draft. Still a good draft for us tonight. CDR could be the biggest steal of this years draft when we all look back on this night in a few years. BTW anyone notice the Calipari joke about the Nets drafting when he coached. lol someone is still a little bitter...

Brook was arguably the best center prospect in the draft and will provide us with another body at the 5 spot. Allowing for Diop to leave and making a Nenad sign and trade a possibility as well. I throughly enjoyed making fun of his voice for a good couple hours after the pick and i'm interested to see what kinda hustle he can bring to our team. Ryan Anderson is a nice player and the shooter we needed. Immediate upgrade over Boki, no bones about it. Later Nachbar! CDR is a flat out steal, haven't been as stoked about a pick since Hassan. Absolute great value for this late in the draft. Yi is like a top 5 pick, Simmons will be a solid contributor if he can stay healthy. We got alot of active bodies and great return on our picks. I have to give the team an A+. I know Bayless would have been great but I think Kiki and Rod see similarities between his and Harris' game and are clearly standing behind their stance of putting good pieces around Devin. This is gonna be a scrappy Nets team, that even if they don't necessarily get the w's, we'll at least be proud of their effort.
10 - I think Lopez will just end up being a role player so I wanted them to draft Bayless and either keep him or trade him to get some more assets to fill out some needs like defence and shooting. 21 - Was expecting a role player and that's what they got so I think it was just OK. 40- Great pickup. Was getting nervous from late part of the first round Chalmers or CDR would be taken but CDR fell. Would of have been great if they could have somehow gotten Chalmers in the 2nd round as well but I'm happy. Damn. Miami traded for Chalmers.
I give it a B- because we got Lopez wich is amazing but then i really didn't like geting another big man in anderson but they made up for it drafting my dude CDR the greatest steal in nba history he was predicted to be in the 10-20 picks he went 40 to us
