Now all the hype has officially gone i must say this:After completing GTA IV i didn't find it as enjoyable as GTA:SA. IV was good and it was enjoyable but compared to SA i just can't play it for as long. i could play SA for hours on my own in Free roam causing carnage whereas on IV i get bored within an hour. And multiplayer is a biiig let-down as well. Free roam is very enjoyable especially with lots of friends. Noramally me and about a half-dozen friends all join up and basically mess about and that is funny, BUT, other Multiplayer modes are boring IMO. I got to about level 3 online and i couldn't carry on, I was bored out of my skull. I don't know why though. Maybe because on SA there were so many different types of Scenery and towns/cities. e.g. you had the big cities on Los santos mixed with the country and quiet towns in amongst the hills. and on Los Venturas you had desert. Maybe the Fresh scenery kept it going for me but i for one preferred GTA:SA over GTA IV for playbility and General fun.

Not me! I didn't buy it, play it, nor do I have the plan to. [IMG]

But seriously, I'm not sure how anyone thought that this game would be innovative enough to be played for an extended period of time.

To me, the series has been repeating since GTA III. I didn't even understand how my brother could play Vice City for 10 hours per day for a whole summer.

    [/end_rant_of_hating_the_GTA_series...sorry]

I'm with you. I'm mostly a roamer with GTA, and I find GTA-IV to be a lot more story-line based. I bought the game, got really excited about it and played it for about a week or so kinda heavy, and ever since I haven't touched a video game. Thinking back to GTA-SA though, I would be on that thing every night for hours when I got home, to the point where it was keeping me up 'til sun up almost every night that summer.

I think NYC was a bad choice to base the game off of too. LA, Miami, etc. are interesting. Even a random southern city like Memphis would have been interesting because of all the country/ghetto/trailer areas, but NYC is played out. It's nothing but a bunch of tall buildings, which is cool to see in real life, but it's not always the most interesting setting for a game.

I also can't relate to this foreign guy. Black or white, you could always put yourself in the GTA player's shoes, because they were American, but I can't relate to this whole Russian immigrant thing. And if I can't lose myself in the game's main character, it's not as fun for me to play.

No, and you found SA more entertaining afterward because GTA IV's aftermath isn't much different then the previous games. The real issue is that the series is getting a bit stale because the style of play is basically still the same; often times, it feels untouched.

possibly but like VC said it is mainly story based and like VC i like to go around and cause Carnage and crap like that. And While GTA IV is still a good game to mess around with i just prefered GTA:SA.

I personally can't wait for SRII now. Saw the ad a couple weeks ago. Rips GTA:IV to pieces with the ad.

It was definitely overhyped. For one, it received a 10 from IGN, which is pretty unheard of. Secondly, most of the reviewers made GTAIV sound revolutionary, when in fact, it was the same GTA with different skin.

If Rockstar continues on the same path, no body is going to be fooled by GTAV. They need to implement something fresh and fun.

I'm hoping they release a lot of good content for download to keep people playing. I haven't picked it up for a couple of months but I will play through it again in the future.

I agree. I still haven't even finished the game, thats how uninspiring I found it.

Just not enough stuff to keep me entertained, the missions were very repetative and tedious at times, they could've done so much more with the game than they did.

I haven't played GTA IV, I haven't even seen anyone play GTA IV. Mostly because I don't/didn't play 360 for a long time. My interest in video games tapered off drastically in my junior year of HS when my school workload increased heavily and I started getting trashed all the time.

I figured I'd buy it during the summer when I was bored and needed something to kill hours during the day but I never did. Call of duty and the new Madden have kept my interest lately but I'll probably get bored of those too pretty soon. Especially since I'm moving off to college (though some people have told me they played more video games in college because of tourneys and such).

Vice City was my favorite even though it was the smallest/shortest. Dunno why but it was just really fascinating and kept my interest. GTA SA was cool but almost too big and for some reason I just didn't get too into it.

SA is the best, imo. It was fun! Also, you can get the Jet pack and machine pistol! JET PACK!!!! Oh, the different cities were great too.

Thats what i liked about it. If you got bored of the City you good go into the forest or the desert. The change in scenery was what kept that game fresh.

Vice City's definitely the best. Best music, best cars, best atmosphere, I guess.

I love Vice City Stories, and still play it when I find the time.
