How do you guys think Lopez will fit in with the Nets? Starter? What do you think of his upside, if any?

I'm really excited about this guy since this is exactly what the Nets needed, but I'm just curious to hear some other thoughts about him.

i dont think he will start rite away... esp with frank as coach... but he should be a solid contributor if he can show frank that he knows how to play bball... frank is in love with people with HIGH BB IQ

I think he'll step in as the opening game starter.

If he shows a solid post game right away, and Krstic is here and he doesn't, then he's a starter.

I think the team really wants to move Boone to the bench ASAP. I think they like him, but see him more effective there.

I dont know at what point, but at one point this season he will be a starter. Boone will either be starting at the 4 or depending on Yi and Swat's development be falling into what i feel is his natural role as the first big off the bench.

I think Boone will start, he seems like the best rebounding/defensive big we have, the other spot could go to Yi, SWat, Krstic or Lopez, probably whoever is the best offensive option at this point. He'll probably get good time no matter what, though.

Lopez is gonna have to put in alot of work to be a consistant post up option, but his shot should help him along, unlike Boone. Lopez will also play a big role in creating driving lanes for Harris/Carter/CDR. I could see Lopez/Boone as an effective frontcourt against bigger C's and PF's.

There will also no doubt be set plays for Lopez to pick and pop.

I hope he can just be relaxed and not become robotic under Frank

From what I've seen of Lopez, he is an able and willing passer out of the post, which is key. A post player who can't pass is worthless.
