I'm really going to miss RJ but , maybe this is not such a bad trade after all.......... That game against the Bobcats really shows his range. If he can hit those 20+ ft jumpers, I don't see any reason why he can't become a good 3 point shooter.

Coming from an Yi fan... Yi has lots to learn about playing NBA basketball. His year on the bucks didn't help his BBall iq at all. Playing with selfish guards only made him more frustrated. Only real good thing he got out of last year was better strength and conditioning, even so he has a long way to go in this department.

i watched him last year. (I was just that much of a yi fan or a hidden masochist iono which.) He's best strength is running north and south, but this wasn't really exploited by the Bucks so by the end of the season he basically stopped running hard, but at the beginning he was damn fast. His 2nd best strength is hitting open 20 footers. Man he could drill those like they were layups. As the season progressed either he got too tired or he didnt adjust to the extramuscle mass that he was putting on, but his accuracy dropped. For those that are thinking he can shoot 3pters... his accuracy even at the beginning of the season wasn't that good from 3pters. It seems like his shooting skill from 20 feet was strictly from just practicing it until it became muscle memory. He's not that great of a pick and roll defender, but the bucks had this god awful defensive scheme were they'd switch on every pick and roll (Yeah stupid as hell). He also needs to work on his hands. He has trouble handling the ball and finishing around traffic. Maybe this is just a result of him adjusting to the faster pace of the nba or what not, but its a major weakness that was never corrected at the end of last season. Yao had the same problems catching the ball when he first came into the league, but he could finish cause he was so damn tall. I think they're just not used to teammates passing them the ball on target and with accuracy and speed. (Read: Chinese guards suck.) What he is though is a tireless worker who will work until he drops dead. If the nets get the right coaches and mentors for him, the sky's the limit. He's better than Yao at the same age and has the same work ethic. He just needs help. (Read: Chinese coaches suck too.) His personalty is well... he's shy, but I think anyone would be if they were asked to go work in a country half way across the world and in a city filled with people of a different race. His english is pretty good. He can communicate on the court and all the sports writers and team personel in milwaukee seemed to think he was a real nice kid. He's just 20 years old so he's bound to make some mistakes, but he's had a structured life and the worst thing he's done was be seen at a karaoke joint 4 in the morning with a hot. Oh and he arrived at the Bucks training camp last year with like some freakish 3.something percent body fat. I might be remembering it wrong but it was freakishly small that the trainer was amazed.

Devin needs a running mate, and the pick and pop used to be a specialty...until Krstic got injured. Hopefully, Yi will come in and fit right in. He sounds perfect for the Nets. And I like his personality, work ethic, mindset - he seems like a great kid who we should love to have on the team. Thanks for all the info, ffz!
First of all, that first clip never happened; that's just photoshop Perhaps Yi's midrange game is better than I thought it was, and he can fill RJ's role on the team (while being happy at doing so I might add)

Yi has 3 point shooter 6-21 in 2007-2008. Since his strength of arms could not ensure the 3 point shooter. he must train more. In my opinion, he has a good start and a bad end in last season, maybe, the two selfish guards and wrist, leg injury limit his activity.
remenber that in the game against the Bobcats, Yi got 29 in 3 quarters. But in the 4th quarter, no one pass the ball to him, even though he had many wide open, and most fans in the stadium shouted " pass the ball, Yi will reach 30 points" . maybe he has problem of communicting with teammates.

(etc wtvr bs i4got)" Who knows if it was just bad grammar or if he was trying to take a shot... by that time everyone and their mother could see the selfishness of the guards on that bucks team.
Yeah guys, I agree, the starting guards on the Bucks were selfish as hell. They took, like, 40 shots between themselves. It was ridiculous. Yi only got the ball when Charlie Bell and Ramon Sessions were in the game - that's when he really shined.
