Prince, Howard, Wallace, Artest, Hedo could all be available. Howard, Hedo, and possibly Artest expire in time for you-know-who.
Also free agent possibilities in Barnes, Pietrus, and Vujacic. But I think we would need to move either Simmons or Hassell. Unfortunately Simmons probably can't be moved. Maybe we can get someone to take Hassell if we package him with something attractive.

Guys, keep in mind that whoever comes in will have to have a reasonable contract and one that does not extend past 2010.
I'd think it would be safe to say that any player with a contract that doesn't end before 2010 is out of the picture. Artest's agent has said he is likely to stay in Sacramento, but who knows where that is going. Wallace I'm sure wants a deal more than two years and probably more than the Nets want. Same with Marion. We could just start Yi along with Krstic and Lopez, or Boone/Williams and Kristic/Lopez.

Nocioni's contract is actually pretty sweet because it declines over time. Wish more were structured that way, or just flat.

Maybe for Lebron if Cleveland has a horrible year and he makes it clear he is leaving the following season. Lots of options. Yi is more suited for the 4.

The problem with starting Yi at SF would be having him chase guys around screens all game or closing out on shooters especially out to the 3 point line. On offense, to take advantage of Yi's size, he has to be able to take guys down low in the post to create a mismatch which I haven't seen him do much in the game. Also, Simmons seems to be mostly a spot up shooter on offense and not much else. Either that's because of the Bucks coach or he's not that skilled to begin with. They don't use him much in the post even though he looks pretty strong and they don't run any iso's for him where he takes guys of the dribble. His spot up shooting could be more useful if the Nets actually had a big guy to throw the ball down low to and kick it out to shooters on the perimeter like Simmons. They also seem to use him at the 4 in a small ball lineup but he's not much involved in scoring the ball. Watching some more footage, the Bucks just don't use Simmons much on offense. He will occasionally spot up for a jumper, or pump fake and drive but for the most part he just catches the ball and passes it or goes somewhere to set a screen. Not much iso's on the perimeter. Not much throwing the ball down low to him. He doesn't seem that athletic, doesn't do much in transition. He's mostly invisible out there. *gulp* Antoine Wright part deux? Except for 9 million.
Stack for Diop in an S&T. Stack has 7 million due this year and 2 million guaranteed next year at a team option. So he'd be a temp fill at the wing....until Lebron....I'm sure the Mavs would take back Hassell to fill out the salaries.
What do you guys think about Maurice Evans and Matt Barnes? Both are good shooters, good defenders, can slash a little. Good role players.
The only SF's we are getting are either expiring contracts, or young high potential guys. Either that or first round picks.
Travis Outlaw Portland's 6th man has 3 years left on his deal, but they are stacked with young talent already. We could attempt dangle Marcus Williams and one of our bigs. They are stacked at guard with Blake, Bayless, Fernandez, and Roy
