<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Rebuilding is a word the Nets avoided after the Jason Kidd trade. No more. In talking with WFAN Friday, Rod Thorn said simply, “we’ve sort of run our course with that group and now were trying to rebuild it.” When asked about the 2010 free agent market, Thorn admitted “we would like to be in position to do things some day”. On the draft, he raved about Brook Lopez, especially his size…”absolutely huge”.</div> Rod Thorn Interview, June 27 (mp3) - Mike Francesa - WFAN Rod Thorn Interview, June 26 (mp3) - Chris Russo - WFAN Thorn's roster review leads to decision to retool - Tom Canavan - AP Yay. I'm kinda exciting about rebuilding. Especially Thorn/Kiki style. Their rebuilding usually works.
Harris+Yi+Carter+Boone+SWat+Lopez+Anderson+CDR+Marcus+high lotto pick next year+Dallas pick the year after+LeBron=absolute dominance.

Look what they've done so far. Thorn came to NJ in 2000, and in 2002 we were in the finals. Kiki came to Denver in 2001, and in 2003 they had made the playoffs for the first time in 8 years! I don't know about you, but I'm excited about these two rebuilding together.
Most people say something like "Well if you say your rebuilding than the fanbase will riot". I dont think thats true, I think all of us know that there is no chance at a title and were looking to get younger, clear cap space, and acquire draft picks. Every team goes through it, we all understand it and were not going to cry about sucking a little next year, as long as they stay the course. And lets be honest, this Lebron thing is pretty real. Now, Lebron isnt coming to Brooklyn just bc hes buds w/ Lebron, hes not an idiot. Plus, Im sure hes got about 1,000 other friends. But if we have the cap room, and Cleveland is at about the same level and hasnt won a title, I would say it would be 50/50. Lebron has said he wants to be a billionaire, he has that rumored deal w/ Nike about making more money if hes in a big market(Im pretty sure). Im sure he could bang out a ton of commercials w/ Jay-Z, maybe start a clothing line together. ect. It all hinges on Cleveland not winning a title and us having the cap room. But even the most optimistic fan cant expect Lebron AND Wade or Lebron AND Bosh. Im sure they are all good friends, but they all have egos and have been the number one guy their whole lives, none of them are coming at a discount to win a title in their primes. But a Harris,Wade,Lebron,Bosh,Lopez lineup would be pretty good. Maybe Jay-Z should extend the olive branch to South beach and up north.

I dont think we plan on having bums on the roster. I think the plan will be include Harris in his prime, Lopez, Yi, one of Boone/Sean, and maybe CDR. With a shooting guard being one of our upcoming draft picks. He did take a team to the finals that might of been a lottery team w/o him. If half of our young players progress nicely and we draft well, we could have a Portland like young core with Lebron and then enough cap room for yet one more pretty big splash if we manipulate the cap correctly.

We are rebuilding. But it will not take long. A lottery pick next year, maybe the following year too. Then we need to trust our part owner and the rest of the FO, and we should be a serious championship contender. Put on your sunglasses folks, the future is bright.
I don't understand the negative opinions on his personality? He comes off to me as someone who's funny. The instance where he was asking the coach's name and everything, that to me just showed he was really nervous. He didn't even try out for the Nets or anything. The whole night is nerve racking for everyone. People just handle it different ways. He and his brother jest alot, all in good humor.
It was weird how he didnt really know how to answer Cheese Doodle Mcgee's question about us making the playoffs. The standard Eli Manning answer for that is "I hope so, we just got to go out there and give 110% and take it one game at a time"
