Hey, does anyone who was watching the draft remember the commercial they had about speed tests/increasing computer spped? It was free something.com and I can't remember it. It seemed like a pretty legit site, so any help would be appreciated.
It's usually spyware or adware. There's a lot of sites and products out there to remove it. One way to check is hit ctrl-alt-del and bring up the task manager and look at the processes tab. CLick on Image Name to sort alphabetically. You probably will see obvious spyware programs running (if there's any). For the ones you don't know, like (on my system) nvsvc32.exe, you google that and there's a lot of sites that will tell you what it is, and if it's malware. Also, go here: http://free.grisoft.com And download the free version of AVG and install it. I wouldn't run any windows system without it, and I don't think you need to pay for a commercial one (like Symantec). Don't uninstall AVG - it's an AWESOME product. It updates itself to handle new viruses and malware automatically, too.
