I was looking at Orlando's salary commitments and I noticed that, assuming they dont QO Redick, they have about $14m in space in 2010....are they posturing for Lebron or one of the other max-type players that may get loose(Wade, Bosh)?

Well they have 43 mill in 3 players (Dwight (15.7 mill), Rashard (20.5 mill), and Nelson(7 Mill))

But that assumes they don`t sign this year`s draft pick and next years draft picks. Which would probably add about 3 mill.

As well they need Hedo which will probably cost them at least 7 mill or 20 mill going by Rashard`s contract.

So that leaves about 4 mill for signing a starting shooting guard.

Then they can sign some bench players.

The only way Lebron can go to Orlando is if he is willing to take the MLE, which seems quite unlikely.

in 2010, they only have 45m committed, with the draft picks signed....and they wouldnt need Turk if they had LeBron....it might not be LeBron specificly they are after, it could be any of the 3....they could add Bosh at the 4, play Lewis at the 3, Lee at 2, Nelson at 1 and they would be unbelievable....regardless, Im not looking to be specific, Im asking if they are posturing to get into that market....

    A second way is S&T.

The amount of cap space a team has when looking fwd that many years is not really relevant. The thing that matters is potential % of cap space. That is how contracts are signed. They change year be year, depending on what the cap is. A max contract for LeBron that year would be 30% of the cap. 14M would fall short of that amount.

Well I guess a S&T could be possible but those sometimes are hard to work out.
