sh*t... someone shoot Bynum's agent coz what he is saying is true LOL Cant we get a discount for our support over the years for andrew, say 70M over 5 years? (i.e. Kareem's mentoring)

I just don't like the way he is talking right now, as if Andrew was an elementary school kid.
I hate agents. So much. Maybe we'll be able to land him a little cheaper though still, who knows. He's ok with taking a bit of a paycut, so why wouldn't we be able to get him at a little cheaper if he's ok with it.
An agents' job should be to best fulfill his client's wishes. If Bynum wants to take less to make the Lakers better, he just do what his client wants.
That's too bad. But someone will give him the max. Whether it's the Lakers or someone else. Although I'm sure the Lakers will give him what his agent wants.
Well I think we should still wait a little more into the season before we give him an extension. Just a precaution.
It doesn't matter right now, he's not getting an extension this offseason. If Bynum can play at a high level next year, while staying relatively healthy, and if he continues to show good work ethic and improvement, then I wouldn't really have a problem giving him the max. 20 year old bigs with his type of potential don't grow on trees
I despise agents. Bynum said that he'd take less money and I believe Shape said wait until his agent makes a comment about it...and now he did. However, you have to give it to him. I don't think Bynum will ask for the max, though. I think we'll be able to get him for about 10-12 million/year
I think we give him what he wants, but I think we wait until we see what he has to offer on the court first. It would be very stupid of our FO to give him an extension this offseason with him coming off knee surgery and not having played a game in what, 6 months now?

The Lakers are in control of the situation regardless of the agent's demands. Bynum would be a restricted free agent and could match any offer a team makes him. This is just posturing by the agent, but the only news I care about right now is how Bynum's rehab is coming along.
