http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...Basketball/home Mike Grange is reporting that defensive specialist Hassan Adams is one of Bryan Colangelo's targets and was probably contacted last night just after midnight, at the official start of free agency. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One spot will likely go to either Hassan Adams or Tamar Slay, NBA veterans who shone at the Raptors' recent free-agent camp. Adams, a former New Jersey Net, may have the inside track. His defensive versatility – he can guard point guards, shooting guards and small forwards – will make up for the likely departure of Carlos Delfino, who may be too expensive for the Raptors next season.</div> http://www.nba.com/playerfile/hassan_adams/ http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tamar_slay/ Adams spent last season with New Jersey. Slay has been out of the NBA for three years and has played for Hapoel Jerusalem, the Bakersfield Jam, and Pierrel Capo d'Orlando in the meantime.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Toronto Raptors' point guard of the future is the man who has been in the position the longest. Jose Calderon announced that he had accepted an offer from the Raptors on his website earlier Tuesday. The deal will likely keep him in Toronto for the next five years NBA teams are prevented from commenting on pending free agent signings until July 9th, but a team source confirmed that the framework of a deal was in place. Calderon's blog entry does the rest: "Early this morning, through my agents, I reached a preliminary agreement with the Toronto Raptors. I want to thank Bryan Colangelo, Maurizio Gherardini, Sam Mitchell and all of the Raptors family for the confidence that they have placed in me. I am sure that together we are going to achieve big things in the future. "It's no real surprise, but nonetheless I'm sure Raptor fans are breathing a little easier."</div> http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...Basketball/home
I would believe that Adams would be a deep depth kind of guy. Probably like a Maceo Baston, won't get much playing time.
Cant wait to see Roko play finally!! I have been hearing so much about him and after 3 years of wait Raps fans finally get to see this guy.
Where all the Nets fans at?! We have you're sloppy seconds. Except he'll be ballin' up in Toronto. Great signings. I like Hassan and what he can do and Calderon is a given. Ukic will be awesome, I think. We have two pretty good PG's now and I'm confident in both of them.

He hustles so he's fun to watch and he makes you want to root for him, however; he's only 6'4" which is too small for SG or SF, that's why he didn't stick with the Nets.
He sounds like Moon, but worse. I don't mind that he's not to great. He can play defense and he'll be fun to watch. I don't know how much Mitchell will play him, but when he does, it'll be fun.

I just cant wait to see Roko play! He is a big PG with some nice handles, soon enough it will be Roko v Jose!
Five year contract for Calderon? A little surprising. I guess it is a good thing, but that is a long deal for BC to be offering. As for Ukic, I see him being a third guard. I don't think he'll be getting primary reserve minutes. I think we'll sign someone else, a veteran, but all I can say is FINALLY. And Adams is strictly a defensive specialist who will help us in a limited capacity.
Adams didnt play for the Nets last season. The season before that he played for the Nets He played over sees in Italy last season.

I like where BC is going so far this year. He's filling some very good needs. So far, he's one of the top GM's after the draft.
If we are planning on using the MLE, if we haven't spent a big chunk of it on Roko already, it would be safe to assume it will be on a big. Hopefully Rasho!
^^Rasho has to play in Indiana for a year, unless they waive him. Primoz Brezec, Francisco Elson, and Kurt Thomas are options. However I think the Raptors need most is a backup pointguard. They have Humphries, Baby Tractor Trailer, Bosh, Bargnani, And Jermaine who are all bigs. I think if they could pick up Duhon would be solid. He has NBA experience, and can play decent minutes.
