I say we get rid of Luther Head!</div> I don't know. It would be tough if it came down to him and Mutombo. Head is a shooter with some upside you can keep on your roster for $2million/season until he retires. What if one of our guards get injured? The comparative advantage is Mutombo for one season in case Yao gets injured. If not, Dorsey should get that playing time imo.
There's a tidbit in a recent Chronicle article that negotiations with Mutombo were going nowhere. Whether he signs or not is not important IMO, as a Landry/Scola/Hayes trio at the PF/backup centre spots is enough IMO. Really love the Barry pickup though. On nights when Rafer's struggling, we actually have another option now to go to. This does spell the end of Head though, as what he used to do for the team now Barry can do, and do a better job at that.
Hi guys, Good to see you guys here again. On the Barry Signing? I think it's an okay signing. He has definitely proved he is worth a backup spot. With that said, I must admit he didn't get many minutes last season, so I'm not sure if he will be what we all expect from him. I say that we drop Francis and Hayes most definitely. What's the chance of beefing up the bench by packaging them in a trade? Just one season ago, coaches were raving about Hayes. And Francis? Well, there might be some sorry GM out there stupid enough to believe that Stevie is still the Franchise. LOL!!!
Hey dakeem great to see you back here as well. Looks like it'll be another slow but eventually key offseason for us. I want us to keep both Francis and Hayes though. Stevie can do it, just believe!

We will either unload his contract to some other team in a package deal for a rotation player, or (more likely, imo) we'll just buy him out. The Rockets have an excess of players right now, and I don't think they feel Stevie is worth keeping around. A shame, since his comeback here would have been a nice story.
I look at Brent Barry as sort of the same situation as Bob Sura when he came to Houston. I dont think Barry will be that much of an impact. I also dont see how this signing really achieves anything signficant, dont the Rockets need to go after Power Forwards like Kurt Thomas?
