Barça Had €30m Villa Bid Rejected

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Catalan giants have now turned their attention elsewhere, with Emmanuel Adebayor one player they are chasing, but los Ché face a struggle to hold on to their striker.

Villa's form at Euro 2008 has made him a wanted man and after he made it clear that he was keen on a move this summer, Valencia can now expect to be receiving offers.

Tottenham Hotspur are also in the frame as one club that made a concrete enquiry for the Spain goalscorer, but they will not be going over €30m in their quest.

In order to avoid complaints from fans, Valencia are sticking to their public line that the player is not for sale unless a mega bid is received.

But given their financial constraints and Villa's desire to move up a level, they are realistic enough to realise that keeping hold of him will be a difficult task.

The club could make one last ditch bid to keep him, however, with the player's agent, José Luis Tamargo, due to meet the club's president, Agustín Morera, and sporting director Juan Sánchez.

Promises were made last summer of a pay rise and Valencia will now have to deliver because Villa currently earns around €2m-per-season, half of what Cesc Fàbgreas, Xavi or Andrés Iniesta earn and a third of Fernando Torres' salary at Liverpool.</div>

Valencia should be aware that David Villa is worth at least 45 Million.
