<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shane Nelson confirmed for eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” FiveOuncesOfPain.com has confirmed that lightweight fighter “Sugar” Shane Nelson is a member of the cast for the upcoming eighth season of the UFC and Spike TV’s hit reality television show “The Ultimate Fighter.” Two separate sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have revealed the news to Five Ounces of Pain within the last week. Nelson, 9-3 according to Sherdog’s fight finder, trains under UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn in Hawaii. Having fought primarily in Hawaii, the Hilo resident has recorded notable victories over Harris Sarmiento and Kaleo Kwan. TUF 8 will feature lightweight and light heavyweight fighters all vying for the right to become the next “Ultimate Fighter” by winning a multi-fight six-figure contract with the UFC. Several sources have indicated that the taping for the upcoming season was completed late last week.</div>
as per out boy Trench's post, http://sportstwo.com/forums/Guam-Boy-TUF-8-t118005.html Joe Duarte will be on the show. from what I could find out, he should be fighting at 155.
^ Yes, he's fighting at 155. His normal weight class is 170 so it should be interesting to see how well he fairs.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Vinicius Magalhaes to appear on eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” Multiple sources have informed FiveOuncesOfPain.com in recent days that light heavyweight prospect Vinicius “Pezao” Magalhaes will be a part of the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality television series on Spike TV. Magalhaes, whose nickname “Pezao” means “Bigfoot” in Portuguese, is 2-2 with one no contest according to Sherdog’s fight finder. He trains out of Team Quest in Temecula, Calif., where he also serves as a trainer. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Magalhaes is a Royler Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt who has competed in several top-level grappling events. While competing for the Professional Submission League, Magalhaes reportedly recorded a victory against renowned Abu Dhabi champion Robert Drysdale, who incidentally is slated to serve as an assistant coach on TUF 8.</div> last season it was mmajunkie providing all the TUF fighter leaks, apparently they got their fingers slapped over it (according to internet rumor ) so it looks like 5oz of pain is taking up the TUF fighter rumor mill.
Dana White is promoting one of the lightweights on this upcoming season as 'the next Anderson Silva'. We'll see.

We'll see.</div> Not to ruin anyone's surprise, but this guy is supposedly our boy from Guam. Bodes well for his chances on the show. Also, the assistant coaches for this show are insane. Big Nog will bring in Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva, though perhaps not for more than an episode or two, and it looks like Mir will bring in the legend Drysdale. Crazy.
<div align="center"></div> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>From Yahoo! Sports: [Dana White] said he’s found “the next Anderson Silva,” a lightweight who is competing in Season 8 of TUF at 155 pounds, though he declined to release the fighter’s name because it might spoil the season. “I was going off when I saw this guy,” White said. “He’s 24 and he’s destroying people. It’s sick how bad ass he is. I’m getting goose bumps talking to you about him.” Early message-board speculation is pointing to Joe “Hybrid” Duarte, a 24-year-old San Diego-based fighter who claims on his website that he’s been selected for Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir. Duarte is 3-0 in pro MMA, 9-0 in pro boxing, and 19-1 in Muay Thai. According to his bio page, he walks around at 185lb-190lb (remember, he’s a lightweight) and is “really, really, really RIDICULOUSLY strong,” thanks to his Chamorro ethnic background. And yes, he does destroy people.</div> SOURCE:CAGE POTATO
Here's an interesting piece of news concerning one of Frank Mir's assistant coaches... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Undefeated middleweight Demian Maia is a man on the move. The 2007 Abu Dhabi World Submission Grappling Championships winner and two-time Mundials (Worlds) champion recently completed a stint as an assistant coach on The Ultimate Fighter 8? and steps back in to the Octagon Saturday at UFC 87 Seek and Destroy in Minneapolis, Minn. against regarded Canadian and six-time UFC veteran Jason MacDonald (Pictures) (20-9). Maia (7-0) spoke with Sherdog.com about the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts preparation for his third UFC appearance and his journey up the challenging middleweight ranks. Sherdog.com: What do you think about Rafael Alejarra's training and how did you get to know each other? Maia: His training is fantastic. I met Alejarra and Wanderlei through Andre Galvo, who trained Wanderlei for his fight against Chuck Liddell (Pictures). I was here to do the The Ultimate Fighter [Maia helped instruct Frank Mir's team], so I asked Alejarra to train me and we are here working.</div> sounds like both Mir and Nogeuira had some sick assistant trainers with them, as I believe Anderson Silva did some assistant training for Nogeuira.
Nogueira supposedly brought in Machida as well. Maia is a good middleweight prospect. His grappling skills are on par with those of Ronaldo Jacare de Souza, Ricardo Almeida and Roger Gracie. His striking and take downs are not good, though--which is the norm.

The TUF 8 roster has been revealed. for a better look at the fighters etc, go here http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/mma/08/13/tuf.8.cast/index.html?eref=T1 or here http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mu...y/0808/ultimate.fighter.8.cast/content.1.html good to see this kind of coverage at SI.
The name that jumps out at me immediately is Krzysztof Soszynski, a Team Tompkins fighter from The Peg. IIRC he is the TKO Heavyweight Champion but has a really spotty record against good fighters (his best win in recent years is against Dan Christison). Jason Guida is also on there but he is a journeyman fighter. Not as good as his bro.
This is for Trench and Nutterman
Yeah, I seen this one...the dude he fought was a weak-ass powderpuff can...lol. I wouldn't even count that one
