Probably so. I love kidd for what he did for this organization but his time is OVER! Hes upset at where he is trust me. If we get LBJ he would throw a fit.

Hey Kidd in case you havent noticed, 2down 1 to go! Stop being a hater just becuz u wanted your trade to DAL and you actually made the team worse. You'll never win anything for the way you bitched and moaned your way out of NJ!

    Lebron in 2010 is inevitable

Keeping Kidd's track record with personnel decisions in mind, I take his opinion as an encouraging one. If he thinks we're far off then we're more than likely right on track.

I believe he means that he thinks Lebron is worth $50+mm a year. Was just a compliment to James, not a diss against the Nets.

Settle down people. Not everything out of Kidds mouth is a diss against the Nets.

Bingo. It's (another) Vince diss. Hope the right people make sure Carter hears it.

Were there others, did Kidd make them public, or more hearsay (Vescey type 'news')?

Nothing overt, just the usual backhanded Kidd way. He said he (Kidd) was the only one on the team with any trade value (which, even if true, is not something a thoughtful teammate would say). The comments last summer after practicing with team USA that implied it would be such a come down after playing with Kobe and LeBron to go back to the Nets. There were the hearsay type of comments, too, that even guys like Ian Eagle (in a podcast) alluded to after the trade . . . Kidd didn't appreciate/feel he could win with Carter, etc.

I should add that the "they're really starting over" remark also pretty clearly means he discounts VC's continued presence on the roster.

True. Thought he could had said the same thing if it were only RJ left. I wonder if he would have a comment or what it would be if VC is moved.

If Kidd's stance is that LBJ won't want to play with Carter, the Nets should move Carter to the Cavs right now...

Only if you believe that Kidd's stance is correct. I can't imagine that LBJ wouldn't welcome playing with a guy who is many levels higher in talent and accomplishment than anyone he's yet played with in Cleveland.

If Carter is even remotely close to Jay-Z I think Lebron will not have a problem playing with him.

I don't think you guys have that big of a chance of getting him, unless you make the playoffs and look damn good to LeBron.

I don't think money matters that much to him anymore, after getting 100+ mill in his first few years, so its up to the Cavs to bring in another player and he'll end up staying for all of his career there. If not then I can see him going to a "championship contender" team.

you know... Ray Allen's contract is off the books in 2010.. KG and Paul will still be there.. perhaps a little more enticing as a legit contender [IMG] [IMG]

Personally, I don't find LeBron to be so concerned about championship in 2 years. Don't forget he'll only be 25 years old. KG and Pierce would have to take some pay cut if they wanted to pick up the best player in the league (I think he will be). In terms of money, I think he can sacrifice the 20 million he'd get from the Cavs for a max deal if he comes to the NY market for endorsements (I mean he's already one of the most marketed NBA stars but there's still more to be gained).

It just seems so apparent to me that LeBron has already made the jump to Brooklyn... throwing up the Roc signs, having Beyonce and Jay on the Cavs bench, talking about Brooklyn as his favorite borough---- I wonder why Jay-Z isn't coming under tampering investigations..

Cavs have to push hard to make him feel comfortable - but I think they already blew it going for Wally, West, and Wallace. They're a decent team but it took plenty of LeBron's heroics just to get to the finals. He could play with a veteran/aging Vince Carter, who will over the next two years lead a young team to build chemistry and unity - then leave LeBron to jump in and take over the reigns with Harris, Yi, Boone, and Sean Williams. Cleveland is left with BZ, Joe Smith, Szczerbiak, Big Ben as major role players for the next two years, and unless they get back to the finals, I can't imagine LeBron wanting to stay.

P.S. The Rock is no Ric Flair though. He may be the best entertainer that the WWE ever had but he wasn't loyal to wrestling. Same with Hulk Hogan, crossing out of wrestling to expand their popularity. Very smart, agreed, that he use his stardom as a vehicle to make Hollywood dollars but Flair is probably the greatest wrestler of all time.

The NBA has expanded so much and is marketed so well, you don't have to be in a major city to be rich with endorsements. LeBron is already making hundreds of millions in endorsements.

If the C's win another title, they'll become much more attractive to Lebron too.

Also, if Bron isn't concerned about winning a title, why leave Cleveland? Simply put he does want to win a title, anyone who wants to be considered great does.

Boston has the history and now a recent title to entice LeBron to sign on and play with them.
Throw in Ainge's good moves of late and he will instill confidence that the Celtics will acquire the right players to win a title with Bron.
