<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Clippers have continued a flurry of phone calls this afternoon with Baron Davis hoping to lock up the free-agent point guard to a multiyear deal, according to a team source who is not authorized to speak publicly on player-movement deals

In a move that took the league by surprise, Davis opted out of the final season of his contract with the Golden State Warriors late Monday to become a free agent, walking away from a guaranteed $17.8 million.</div>

If the Clippers could make this move, it's got to put them in WCF talks.

The funny thing is how everyone is discounting Kaman as a "big three" member. On Sportscenter the anchor (not even the analyst) was calling it a potential "big two and a half."

So Kaman finishes #3 in the league in rebounding and #2 in blocks, and he's not good enough, especially in a league that lacks quality big men, to be considered part of a big three? Rebounds and blocks are a huge part of the game, and Kaman does both better than most of the league. He's also a 16 ppg scorer on 48% shooting who isn't going to shoot your team in the foot from the line.

I've always thought of Kaman as a good center in the NBA. He's way underrated.

He should have been an all-star.

That would be crazy, but why the Clippers?

    It's because Kaman is white.

I wouldn't be surprised if Baron and Brand had some kind of agreement.

They'd be lacking in defense, but that'd certainly be a start to a helluva lineup.

So much for the Lakers having competition in LA. [IMG]

Losing Brand frees up some cap space, no?

They can offer a pretty big deal to any RFA and hope the offer isn't matched.

They need to pursue Josh Smith.

Who's left though? Josh Smith would be an awesome addition, but no one will be as good as Brand. There's certainly no power forwards near his calibre left on the market.

They do not need to pursue him! He needs to stay in Atlanta. But all bias aside, he would be sick with Baron. They should have tons of cap room, I expect a huge seal or FA signing to go down.

Baron Davis, Al Thornton, and Josh Smith. Can you say athletic?
