most likely not going to happen, but adding him would be a great thing for us.

I like his game. a little out of control at times, but he really is instant offense and an exciting player to watch. VC, CDR and JR would be nice to have on one team. I hope we get it done.

Signing Pietrus would be the best move/pick this team has made so far. If the Nets sign him, he will make a much bigger impact than any of the recent aquisitions.

we need defense on this team, JR doesn't consistantly bring that.

he'd be nice to add, although I almost hope we start the season thin at sg/sf so CDR gets a look at a starter spot.</div>

I still don't get this starting CDR business, especially when Frank wants guys who play defense. Look, he was a steal, but he was passed up 39 times in a weak draft for a reason. Maybe he should have only been passed up 25 or 30 times, but that's neither here nor there. The fact of the matter is that Nets fans should be more excited about the acquisition of Ryan Anderson.

I know everyone wants JR.....But maybe even Gerald Green is a good Option.......there is to much stuff involved trying to get Jr Smith But if we could get him I would be happy.

I don't want JR Smith for a number of reasons, but the most important of them is that he will force me to avert my bleeding eyes every time I catch a glimpse of his hideously over-tattooed body.

Nets should be looking at this guy, cheaper option then JR Smith and very similar game style:

On the one hand, J.R. Smith is a knucklehead, and the prospect of mixing him and Lawrence Frank in a locker room sounds disastrous.

On the other, getting him in a sign-and-trade for the midlevel exception? That's actually about how much he's realistically worth. It's not often you get a free agent at a contract number they deserve, especially on as offensively talented as Smith.

If we're trading picks or Sean Williams, I wouldn't be too happy, but if we're talking Marcus Williams or (and I don't know if this is actually possible) a co-signed-and-traded Nenad Krstic, then it might make a lot more sense.

I dunno, it sounds like a disaster, but the kid is REALLY talented.

Ill say it again, I think Smith can become a STAR if hes given the oppurtunity to start he can put up 25ppg at least a night IMO.

I would love to do a Sign & Trade VC for him, and stay younger/cheaper

Harris / JR would be the most athletic backcourt in the NBA IMO

Good. Gerald Green is horrible. He won't last much longer as an NBA player.

Id like Rush, Ross, and Pietrus. But the best case scenario is probably just 2 of the 3.

Ross and Pietrus could fit into the long term plans, they cant really score, but are very good wing defenders.

Rush reminds me of House, shooter for hire.

Smith is a great scorer, but isn't a complete player by any means.

I would much rather go after Pietrus, who will not only be cheaper...but could fill a Bruce Bowen type roll for a longer amount of time for the Nets.
