If you want to read something depressing, read Dave D's blog.

--Nets will not offer ANY free agent more than two year contract.

--the Nets have NOT contacted JR Smith, at least yet.

--the Nets HAVE contacted Kwame Brown (you know he is ours...you know it)

--the Nets have contacted others--Pargo, Najera, Pietrus, Posey, etc. (but that two year restriction means few will go along)

    --Diop is gone.

I didn't really find it depressing, nothing I didn't expect. Maybe because I realize we are going to suck for the next two years. I am staying optimistic that in 2010 we will become the team to beat for many years.

    Nothing depressing to me either.

It shows financial restraint and the willingness to construct the club properly.

I actually think I am going to find this rebuilding process pretty fun to watch. I'm looking forward to watching the young kids develop. When I think about it we knew we weren't going to win anything with the team we had (Kidd, RJ etc.), we were noting more than a mediocre team. I wish we started to rebuild earlier. It was fun while it lasted but now it's time to move on.

Nothing much depressing but guys its Kwame Brown. Kwame Brown is not the best of player and with out a doubt not one of my favorite player, lets just leave it at that.

The only thing that scares me about the Nets rebuilding process, and it was driven home on draft night, is Rod and Kiki being the ones making the decisions on the lottery picks the next 2 seasons

Kwame's job is to make Stro not feel like the worst big man on the team

everything is as expected... besides the fact that i do not want to sign kwame brown lol... maybe they have plans to develop him over the next 2 years... but i think he's just like swift... a waste of talent. Its going to be interesting how everyone develops. Its going to be fun imo. Its better than being a headache like last season, at least we AREN'T expecting much this time around.

    That was a typo.

The Nets are short a few members of the clean up crew and they calling Kwame to see if he would be interested.

Theres abosolutly no way the nets bring in Kwame. We have enough bigs as it is and we dont need a scrub like him to take any playing time away from the likes of Yi, Lopez, Swat, Boone

Im sorry but i dont buy the Kwame rumor for a second

    all 3 of them?

I dont understand why we cant lock a guy like Pietrus/Rush/Ross up for 4 years. These guys would cock block Lebron?

Unless your going to tell me theyre going after Lebron and Amare/Bosh

    or Lebron and Yao

If this is the case I expect a Vince trade a few weeks before the deadline to the highest bidder out of Utah,PHX,NO(?)Houston or maybe even Philly.

    Kwame Brown on the Nets?

I'd rather just sign Rod Benson. What's the difference? At least Benson has the intrigue and the popularity.

Exactly. And that's the only depressing point from all of them mentioned by NI. Why do we always need to bring a "tree" that the whole league gave up on?

There's nobody available that's worth locking up for more than 2 years so i'm not mad at that at all. I know alot of people love JR on here but i'm not on that bandwagon. Kwame is probably big man insurance in case we have to trade one or two of our bigs to address other needs. He's a guy they can sign for a short period and not have to worry about stealing time from the young kids. All is well.

I dont buy this for a second. Why trade Marcus, your one last mopey player and then bring Kwame into the mix?
