Maybe the Nets can bring back MJ, I heard that he can Kwame had great chemistry on the Wizards [IMG]

Seriously, when did Kwame brown become a hot commodity? If anything he's the reason they raised the NBA age limit.

[IMG] Well at least with him and Sean, we would have good interior defense.

Actually i think he is a pretty good low post defender...
if he was a second round pick would be alot easier...

Well, yes. We do have enough big men. But, ALL are PFs. With Diop gone, and Krstic probably not coming back, our only C is Brook Lopez.
(Yi, Sean, Boone, Stro and Anderson are all PFs, most of them undersized for that even)

I know there are not many great big Cs anymore in the league. But still, every team neads a tough big with size.

We need an enforcer, someone do set great picks, someone to create space inside for VC and DH to drive, and fight if they are hacked.
One of our biggest needs las year was toughness, but now we are far away softer and weaker.

I'm not saying Kwame is the answer, but we need another big body.
Maybe we could redo the trade, and get back Collins for Stro from the wolves.
I'd even think about bringing back Magloire for the veteran's minimum salary. This time we won't expect too much from him, like we did last year.

Any other ideas for a big backup C?
Does anybody think we don't need one?

I'd like Kwame if he didn't cost too much. He's a solid rebounder and solid defender, and he isn't as turnover prone as he seems. I wouldn't have him do much on offense, but he would be a decent garbageman. The only problem is he could take some minutes from Boone, who does similar things. Which is why I'd rather keep Krstic. Also Krstic at this point probably has more upside.

The Lakers got to the finals without a natural C, and the Celtics only used one natural C in Perkins. We don't need one....they're turning into more of a luxury than a need.

The Lakers did lose the finals because of lack of toughness imo.

As soft as Gasol is, he is still way bigger, stronger, tougher and more of an inside presence than anything we have.
Same thing can be said for Turiaf. Mbenga is no baller, but he has black belt in judo, that's what i heard somewhere.. Mihm ain't bad either. Next year they will have that young fella also.
Perkins, Davis, Powe, PJ Brown... even KG. All of them way tougher than anything we have.
We don't have to contend with these teams though [IMG]

These guys would all help a lot for our frontcourt toughness. Not that they are available though...

But finding just one team, as soft upfront as we are doesn't seam easy to me.

(Our toughest guy is Josh Boone... Hopefully Lopez shows something too, because everyone else is weaksauce. We have many bigs, but we seriously need toughness. Kwame, Collins, even Magloire.. someone has to come IMO )

I know we are not looking to contend, but if we want to win some games a big body on the bench would be nice.

You're overrating everyone. First of all, Mbenga and Mihm barely played in the playoffs.

Davis and Powe aren't really that great. They're good bench players, sure, but I'd be willing to bet that the Nets' bigs could have done a fine job in their place.

Gasol, Perkins, KG, Turiaf are all experience players with plenty of experience. Who's to say Boone, Sean, and Brook can't elevate their toughness as time goes on? Why take a chance on a peice of crap like Kwame when we have plenty of big players who already need playing time? Especially with us not contending.

Getting Kwame just wouldn't make sense. Kwame's not all that tough, anyways.

I'm not saying we need to give rotation minutes for this bigtough guy.
I also want to develop the youngsters.
But against the Shaq, Dwight, Al Jefferson, Eddy Curry type offensive monsters, it would be nice to have somebody on the bench, who can give 6 very hard fouls.
None of our guys are capable imo (Maybe Boone)

I know those guys barely played (Mbenga and Mihm). And I'm not saying they would play more for us. But it would help our team win some more games to have someone like that on the bench.
Would help much more than our 4th PF off the bench (Stro, Anderson, or whoever that will be).
