I really like this series they have on ESPN. It's great to see what these athletes do for the kids. And the look on the kid's faces when they first see the athletes. Priceless. This is one of my favorite ones with Kobe Bryant: <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBJ9UpFyfnw&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBJ9UpFyfnw&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>
People don't realize that a lot of athletes do the same thing, not once, not twice, but many many times. And most of the time, these things go unnoticed. It's a shame that the media usually only focuses on the negatives, because a lot of athletes have really kind hearts and do a lot to give back to their community. Kobe Bryant is just an example. He has been criticized for all the mistakes he has made in the past, but not many people take the time to research about all the good he has done for the fans, and everything he has done to help the community. Many other athletes are in the same boat. The media should focus more on these stories, rather than blowing the negatives out of proportion and feeding us the same crap over and over again.
http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/feature/index?page=MyWish2008 Just go to this link and watch some of these. They show a different side of athletes. The side that the majority are like off the court.
Yea, this are really nice and touching as well. I really liked the Cuathemoc Blanco one that was shown today.
I saw the one with baseball, it was great. So nice for the kids to meat their favorite players and favorite team.
I really like the Steelers one. Despite the bad reputation it has developed over the years, this shows the great personalities of the majority of the NFL players.

Another nice My Wish Series we got to enjoy this week. My top 3 were Shaq, Blanco, and the Cleveland Indians. Good stuff ESPN does (for once) good stuff indeed!
