I honestly think this is just his agent trying to drum up offers, but I don't think any are forthcoming. The Nets can't really lose. He's either an inexpensive player who becomes a valuable trade commodity or he's a lost cause coming off the books. The only way they can screw it up is if they trade him for nothing and he returns to form.
I can honestly say I'm one of his biggest fans. Looking at how much he grew each year, it wasn't hard to see he could have easily been a 22 and 8 type player before he was injured. With that being said, with the new rookies and everything, maybe we should just let him go because we are starting fresh.

Not sure how valuable a trade commodity he would be if he's not signed but excepts the QO. In that case if he is traded, he loses his bird rights (Like George). The Nets have to sign him to a deal, which he would accept 1st. It's a risk certainly. -Petey

I'm sure his agent would want to make it easy for the Nets to move him at the deadline.

If someone wants him then a $3mm commitment next year shouldn't scare them. Could also put a buy-out in for the 2nd year.

I doubt they want a low dollar deal for more than one season.

Maybe the staff is going to do that with these young guys as well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (networks @ Jul 3 2008, 09:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Agreed, but it would be a waste of time. We need these young guys to get experience which means playing time. So we sign Nenad to QO only to have him take these guys PT and we let him go the year after. Doenst make sense to me. Get a Vetern Big man ala PJ Brown to help develop them.</div> At this point it's all about getting the most we can for him as we just lost Diop for nothing. I agree that i'd rather have the young kids get the majority of the PT to figure things out but if we kept Nenad around until the deadline it won't be that bad. Worst thing that could happen is he would provide a firsthand blueprint for Brook and Yi to follow as well as a crafty offensive player for them to bone up their D in practice. Nobody steps right into the Nets "system" from day one so consider it another safe play by management if they bring him back. Now if he's resigned at the expense of Boone or Sean, somehow making them available, then that's a different story.

If Krstic is so great that he affects the court time for other players, that is a blessing, not a problem.
Krstic was starting to play really well before the injury, but all i saw him do last year is ride the bike behind the bench
