I wonder if we'll get another offer for him, though. Obviously, if the offer is good enough, I'm assuming we'll take it.
I'd be suprised to see them trade Carter this early. I still think he's the only leader-type player we can have at this point and also player who has power to sell some tix besides Yi. So unless we get Kidd - Harris type of deal it's unlikely happen this early. Remember Ratner LOVES Carter. they'll at least give him until trade dead-line and see what he can do with this young group. By the way, it's good to finally find a forum that's really active like this one. another hard-core nets fan here

Welcome to S2, New Breed! I'm sure you'll have a great time here, this forum really is always active and full of life. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or one of the Nets moderators (pegs and GMJigga). As for Carter, I'm for keeping him. No need to trade him, if we want LeBron having Carter won't hurt and we have enough cap space for 2010 already. Plus, he brings plenty of revenue and season ticket holders and I think he'll play more freely now that there really is no pressure on the Nets anymore.

I think the Nets should trade him. It would allow the youngsters more time, and allow them more room to grow. And if Brand/Baron sign w/ the Clippers, it will show that the added space Wally or whomever's expiring contract will allow the Nets to chase after 2 Max Free Agents. Even though they are adults, they like to follow along with their friends as if they were still in pre-school. -Petey
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MaxaMillion711 @ Jul 3 2008, 03:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>if he did leave, would nets fans boo him?</div> I doubt it. He was great end of last season. Sure it was disappointing season but what he did at end of last season was great. If he can produce 24pts 6 reb 5 asst again this season or at least he shows me his doing his best every single night, I have no problem keeping him until his contract runs out. and Thanks guys for warm welcome

Are any of you worried that Vince will go out the same way he did in Toronto. I think he averaged about 17ppg, and then when he hooked up with Kidd he started scoring 28ppg . If they wait until the trade deadline and he knows that they are planning on dealing him he will intentionally refuse to produce.

If he thinks Nets are about to ship him out of Jersey then he would play harder to make other team actually gamble with his contract.
I'm glad they aren't looking to deal Carter, because I feel that it's not necessary to deal him for the sake of dealing him. Unless we are absolutely getting something great, like a young guy with a lot of potential and couple of lottery picks. I think Vince could still be able to produce the same numbers that he did at the end of last season... or better. If he's healthy, Vince can carry the team along with Harris and our young guys. Vince's game have matured after Kidd was traded, I think his numbers will only get better compare to this season.
Even if Carter doesn't produce (which I doubt will be the case), and we want to get rid of him, I'm sure we'd have no problem finding a sucker of a team to take a chance at him (see Raptors/O'Neal).

If we want nothing more than expirings, we can still get that later. And from a team other than Cleveland.
