What happens if lebron decides to stay in CLEV

I love how you guys make it sound like every one of those players will opt out and look for new teams. Do you know how many players just resign with their current teams and it's no big deal. All of those guys except Lewis resigned with their original teams. For all you guys know, all of those guys will stay with their teams and you'll have to pursue role players. I'm just saying, don't make it sound like you have all the options in the world and you'll just have to settle on a lesser young superstar. It may not be that easy.

Unlike previous superstars, these guys purposely signed contracts with opt out provisions to give them ultimate flexibility.

But wait, Orlando fans wanted Vince at some point?

I thought the purpose of those contracts was so they could opt out for more money with a new CBA.

And the teams that can give them the most money are the teams that they are playing for....

Exactly. And no, Orlando fans were 100% against getting Vince but Otis Smith considered making an offer for awhile. The two teams even tried to work out a trade last season but it fell apart (thank God).

That was certainly a major part of the reasoning, but it was also about giving the players total control.

All one of these players has to say is that they want to play on another team as a FA and their original team will be willing to work out an S&T which gives the player the max money they can get.

Agreed. But not all Nets fans ar eexactly fine with throwing away the next two years in the hopes Lebron signs with us.
