http://www.nba.com/nets/news/Summer_League...-276898-64.html Anderson: "Oh man; I knew he was athletic but he's definitely a lot more athletic than people give him. He's 6-7, 6-8; he's a guy who can shot block any shot around the hoop. He's definitely an athlete and a guy that's going to be (a) key for the team in the coming years because we're going to need an athlete like that alongside Brook or myself to play down low or on the wing - a big guy that's strong and athletic." i thought sean williams was more like 6'10 / 6'11 lol... either way i guess he gets the job done. But its good to see all the positives of all the rookies and julius hodge from reading that article. Hope we get hodge, nocioni and dooling and i think we'd have a good lineup for next season.
Nope, he's really not that tall. The easiest way is to see these guy warm up before games. He was always just as tall as RJ, and a bit shorter than Nachbar.

I'm always trying to determine heights by pausing when players are side by side. Zoran was two inches taller than RJ but listed as 6'7".

Wingspan is more important than height. If Sean is undersized its not because of his height or length, its because of his weight.
Well it doesn't really matter since Sean has a wingspan of a 7footer but, according to DE Davis is 6'9" with shoes. Sean looks a little taller than him. I'm thinking around 6'9.25" with shoes and 6'8" w/o shoes. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2414/175180...896a660.jpg?v=0

I wouldn't be surprised. We are in dire need of a good shooter. ......still dont know why we havent heard anything about Rush
6^ ft 7 means he'll never be a center only a PF. I was disappointed with Sean, instead of improving like most rookies he took step backs and was making the same mistakes like cheap fouls and was really a nonfactor the second half of the season. I used to project him as being the next Samuel Dalembert but now I think hes just the next Stephen Hunter.

He may not have his head screwed on right all the time, but he has more offensive skills than Hunter can even imagine.
It's crazy, when Sean runs down the court his length makes him look 6'10" but next to players you really get to see just how generous listing him at 6'9" is. I knew the NBA fudged some stats but i've been really conscious of it since I had floor seats a season ago and was I was eye level with House and i'm only 5'7".

Combined that with him being out of basketball for almost a whole year and that's why he stopped improving. Look for Sean to have a big year, and if he doesn't then you can start with the comparisons.

Lets not forget that we got Stro and Diop and we were giving them both good looks. Throw in Nenad returning for the second half and minutes were tough to come by, that's when Frank started experimenting and having him guard 3's. He wanted Sean out there but he had no idea how.
to be a good basketball player you have to have a good basketball I.Q and Sean's IQ is 0. Look at Stromile Swift he was even more atheltic than Sean coming out of college and look at him now. He never improved his IQ. Thats what makes the difference in a basketball player. Swift and Amare were about even as athletes but Swift never did anything to try to improve or become a smarter basketball player. Sean doesn't seem too smart either which scares me because I feel hes just going to be wasted talent.

After getting kicked off the team he stayed at Boston College to get his degree. The mental detriments for him aren't any innate...dumassery, but rather his lack of playing organized basketball. If I remember correctly he didn't play a full season until his senior year of highschool?
From what I saw of him, his height didn't really matter when he was blocking the snot out of teams. 6-7 or 6-10, he plays big, and that's all that really matters. Although they are different types of players, Craig Smith on Minny is listed at 6-7, but plays the 4 and plays it like a true big guy.
