He's going to live in Jersey? Does CDR like the swap or something. I think it's better he live in Brooklyn or NY for when the team moves up.

You should. It's a great place.

Someone posted this somewhere else recently:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Actually, I'm a very well traveled person (born in Chicago, raised in NJ, Boston, DC and LA), and, although I love San Diego, believe me when I say that NJ is the most livable state in terms of convenience, quality of life, safety, and culture:
In north central jersey... I live 20 minutes from 4 pro teams, 1 hour away from 13 pro sports teams, have nearly the richest per capita income in USA, live 45 minutes from some great beaches (Ocean City, NJ, Long Beach, Cape May, etc), live 30 minutes from 8 of the top 50 restaurants in USA (CondeNast), live 45 minutes from the #1 golf course in USA (Pine Valley, NJ), and 1.5 hours from 8 of the top 100 courses in USA (Golf Magazine), 25 minutes from the top university in USA (Princeton) and 2 hrs from 4 ivy league schools, NJ spends the most per student on education, and has the highest college attendance rate in the country, has more luxury malls per square mile than anywhere in USA, 60 minutes from decent skiing, and just 30 minutes from the greatest city in the world and the center of culture, finance and media (NYC). And of course, now we have good Rutgers football...

Camden and some of the northern cities in NJ are poor, but the suburban and smaller urban areas in the state are great places to live and work. Morristown, Red Bank, East Brunswick, Summit, Short Hills, Chester, Moorestown, Pompton Plains, and so on and so on... Money Magazine consistently rates towns in NJ the "most livable" in the country, even though real estate prices are so elevated in the state. And these rankings take into account quality of life factors... see the link below for another very thorough ranking where NJ is again near the top. Additionally, dozens of townships in NJ have consistently the lowest crime rates in the US, as per FBi statistics. So, go ahead and stereotype Nj based on a few areas in the state (and even Newark is rapidly gentrifying as we speak).. 95% of NJ is great.. much better than almost anywhere in the US, especially the horrible southern states, which are almost always last in culture, quality of life, and crime per capita.</div>

    State Livability Rankings - Who's #7?

All-in-all, I really don't think I'd rather live anywhere else. NJ gets a bad rep for no reason and gets trashed by people who have never stepped foot within it's borders. And it's quite a shame because it really is a very nice place to live.

Lol, my bad. I wasn't actually trying to insult Jersey, just some stereo-typical thing. And I've been to Jersey, it's pretty nice. I don't think it's like Toronto, but that's my personal opinion.

It is sad a person from Toronto is trying to diss NJ. Why are you on our board if all you wanna do is talk crap? And nice spelling "swap".

There has been plenty of good natured joking between the Raptors fans and the Nets fans here. No need to get defensive.

I've been to NJ twice, and I love it there. I was thinking of moving there after college, but now I'm thinking of moving down south, where there's no winter [IMG]

I've been to Canada once, and it was "meh"

Living in Bayonne, originally from Jersey City, it's been a complete culture shock to have an internship which I recently started in Oakland. It's so beautiful out there. Lakes, forests, mansions. It's the opposite of what I see every day. But that's the beauty of it. NJ's so diverse, it's literally got everything: forests, mountains, lakes, cities, beaches.
Still, my dream is to move to Australia.

Anyway, thanks CDR for saying you want to move to NJ. You've made for an interesting thread [IMG]
