Boki Wants to Stay ... For More Than Two Years Despite all the changes in New Jersey, Boki Nachbar wants to remain a Net. “I want to be one of those players who stays,” he says. But he’s also honest: He’d like a contract with more than two years guaranteed. Nachbar’s agent says that the Nets haven’t said “no” to a three-year deal, but they haven’t said “yes” either. They continue to look at Eduardo Najera and Andres Nocioni.

After what he did last year, I vote nay. Sign him to 2 years but he's not worth a long term deal.

edit: I thought this was funny
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Nets broke rookie camp last night and will begin play at the Orlando Summer League tomorrow evening against the Magic. Coach Lawrence Frank says he expects his veterans to dominate. "I think it's very important for him to show," he said of Sean Williams. "I mean, he started NBA games. You have to show that in your play. If I'm Sean Williams, I want to show I should start this year. There's no on-off button for him. Same thing with Marcus (Williams): He should be the best player in the gym every day. I mean, come on."</div>

I never knew he went by Boki. I don't know why, but I find that name hilarious. It's like a nickname a girlfriend gives to her boyfriend.

Yeah, it took me a while to figure out who people were talking about when they mentioned Boki.

Boki doesnt fit here anymore... We got Ryan and he pretty much does everything better than him.

2 years w/ a team option for a 3rd. Thats as far as we can go. It would be unwise to gurantee a 3rd year when its not crazy to sign Lebron and another pretty big FA.

I say give it to him. They could always trade an expiring contract, and its not like boki is a bad player. Anderson may not be ready and he is capable of starting at the three spot. I bet thorn signs him to a 3 year deal

Boki means ghost in Slovenian. It was his nickname growing up.

I like Boki a lot but I don't think he fits here anymore. If I had to choose between him and Kristic, I'd choose Nenad.

Never liked him, shooting was too inconsistent. Hope Ryan Anderson can be better.

Or, he's the second coming of Scott Padgett.

I'd give him 2 at most...sorry. The last thing we should be worrying about is giving a role player a longer deal.

Boki's a scrub... no one is going to win a championship with him cracking the rotation. His only defense is fouling...

Question, does our payroll go up when we move to Brooklyn just like all the NY teams or is it irrelevant b/c there is a cap anyway?

We've got way too many bigs now for him to play the 4, and we have Simmons and Hassell at the 3 with VC sliding over to combo with CDR at times. There's no place for him unless we make another deal.

I disagree, theres room at SF, in fact, Im not sure if our starting SF is on the roster right now.

The only problem is, is Boki worth even coming close to messing w/ Lebron and or Yao 2010

I don't know, he doesn't play defense and struggled last year. Hes already hit his ceiling and signing him for more than two years will be a huge mistake. We may need him though because Simmons is injury prone. If we can get him for two years it would be great but that doesn't seem alike a posibility

we should definitely keep him around. He would start for us at the three, and he wasn't as bad as people say he was last year, and he was doing that injured.

Yuck, I don't want him starting. His defense was awful.

I didn't even factor in Anderson who's already mentioned being a 3/4 so he can slide into that spot too. I'd much rather have Simmons and Anderson hold down the fort over Boki. Nachbar is a guy you add when you have a winning formula, he's not a piece we should have that steals minutes from young players or guys trying to up their trade value.

I don't think we have our starting 3 either, as Rod is working his magic to try and get Nocioni but suggesting that if Boki resigns he'll be the starter is something I personally cringe at.

I think part of Nachbar's willingness to stay here is because he's a loyal guy but there's no doubt in my mind it's because deep down he knows this is the only place he'll have any play. In all honesty he's an 8th or 9th man at best on any winning team with little room to grow and very little trade value. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate his willingness to resign with us during this rebuilding period but we can't be fooled into doing so when we have so many more points of weakness in our squad. I personally believe we've gotten all we can from him and with all of the experimenting we're going to be doing we'll see more of Boki from last season that the one from the year prior. Give Krstic the money, not Nachbar.
