    it would never happen anyway.

The only way we trade Vince is if we get expiring contracts, a young player with talent and/or draft picks...Vince will be here until at least the trade deadline...when his value will most likely be much more substantial than it is currently.</div>

I agree 100% with this statement. Even though Wallace is a nice player... Im not even sure he is an upgrade compared to RJ. And Felton is an OK player. Only way we trade VC is for expiring contracts (2010) Young players and draft picks. Also Ive heard that Wallace is an asshole and has a piss poor attitude. So no. I'll pass even though it sounds temtping.

This trade idea is so bad I'm surprised anyone is taking it seriously. First of all, people are severely underrating Carter. He's an All-Star caliber player. His productivity is comparable to Paul Pierce, the best player on the NBA champs. Carter is no Michael Jordan, and he's not close in ability to Kobe Bryant. But his value is competitive with any other SG in the league.

Wallace and Felton are okay starters, but it's rarely a good idea to give up the best player in a trade. It can be when a player is close to leaving through free agency (like Kidd) or when the player does not give the team a better chance to win (Jefferson).

Carter is both a bulk scorer and unselfish. Surrounded by the right talent, he can be a piece of the puzzle for a winning team.

Carter is 31 years old. If the Nets exercise the option year of his contract, he'll be 35 when it ends. Barring injury, All-Star caliber guards tend to continue playing into their late thirties at a high level. I won't be surprised if Carter earns another big contract after this one.

Some seem to think the Nets are rebuilding and doomed to years in the lottery. So far Jefferson and Diop are gone, and Krstic and Nachbar may follow. Diop and Krstic could each bring something back through sign and trade deals. In each case, the players are leaving because management didn't want them anymore. Replacements have already been found for Diop and Krstic, although a starting SF is still needed to replace Jefferson.

How good will the Nets be next season? I see no reason they should be worse than last year. The should be a solid playoff team, especially if a solid starting SF like Nocioni is added.

Yes, the Nets are getting younger, but Carter is not too old to participate in their resurgence, and too good to give away without getting an elite player in return.

Both teams pass. Nets would do it if they were getting Felton and Wallace cheap past 2010, which they aren't. Bobcats don't want someone like Carter next to JRich.

I think most of you have Gerald Wallace wrong saying that he is an asshole, and overrated. He has always been great to the Charlotte fans and is the hardest working player on the court, his teammates love him and they consider him the leader of the Bobcats.

How is he overrated? I think he is underrated, he has not made an all star team even the year he had 2 blocks and 2 steals a game which hadnt happen in a long time. He is rarely mentioned as a great player, and has improved his PPG ever year in charlotte.
