Not only do you have these two amazing players, but you have legitimate threats rising up in Djokovic and Tsonga. Every year I find myself more and more captivated by tennis. It doesn't have nearly as much drama/controversy as the other professional sports I follow and always provides the excitement and tension you only get from a tournament.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The match wasn't rightfully anybody's. Nadal earned his win, so its his. I'm hoping I can see one of these two (or Djokovic) play at the Rogers Cup in a few weeks.</div> Well, Federer choked tons of break points away in the first two sets. He should have won those. Oh well. Hopefully, he loses his no 1 reanking (probably will pretty soon, actually), and then comes back even stronger next year. By the way, check out the girls' singles winner: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GyoG5CpjG4E http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/e3/fullj.31...mbledon_cha.jpg
This was one of the best matches I've ever watched. The shots and angles these two were coming up with were simply incredible. I kept trying to figure out why Federer didn't serve and volley more. In the past he played a lot more at the net and with his 1st serve accuracy the entire tournament I was amazed he didn't attack more and shorten the court for Nadel.

The only reason that final wasn't over in straight sets is because he's Federer and came up with some unbelievable points, but in the end, for all the winners he hit, there were just as many uncharacteristic errors. Playing so much of the first two sets from the baseline was suicide, and too often he let Nadal dictate points. The two best players in the world by so far it isn't funny. I know Djokovic beat a very average Federer at the Australian, but could anyone see him playing that sort of a final?

Possibly fatigue played a factor in his performance. I didn't watch much of the tournament so I'm not sure for certain if Federer had a tougher time getting to the Finals than Nadel had.
