Supposedly, the Nets are rebuilding and collecting young players and making roster moves based on the assumption they can pick up a high-profile free agent in 2010, namely LeBron. The Nets have only committed to Harris and Carter past 2010. What if Carter feels he is in a win-now point in his career where he can't afford to dedicate what's left of his prime years to a rebuilding squad, and consequently requests for a trade? You wouldn't put it past VC to request for a trade. Maybe this was overlooked? Thoughts?
No, because Thorn and Kiki have said that they're only "retooling," and still want to be competitive in the East. Now whether or not they'll be realistic contenders is another thing, but they certainly don't intend on lying dormant for 2 years.
Add Nocioni to that mix and you have very interesting mix of players. The team's basic outline should be known in two weeks.
It'd be sweet to have Noc and Hodge on the team (or maybe a surprise breakout player from the summer league.. ) Can't wait to see what we have in store...2 weeks or so will be here before we know it.

I love Nocioni but I'm just worrying about salary on 2010.

i dont think he will demand a trade...not at all. ever since the nets aquired vince when he was injured from TO, he has been prasing them saying they picked him up when he was wounded and for that he will be forever grateful. he apparently loves the management and playing for the nets and he probably should stick around and not demand a trade if he wants to repair his image (but knowing the media even if he is a good sport they will paint it like he is a jerk) even though I think its best for both sides that they get rid of carter (*cough CLEVELAND *cough* ) I think he will stick around until they get rid of him
I am sure that Vince will have a few conversations with McGrady about income possibilities stemming from being the best player on a team with a Chinese celebrity. His best economic interest is to stay and help make Yi a star. And the Nets best economic decision is to keep VC and help him make Yi a star.

Thorn will pull the trigger on a deal that will help the Nets. That is the bottom line. whatever Thorn said yesterday may change today. That is the nature of the business. He cant come out and say -- That is it BLOW the whole damn thing up. We should have never resigned VC for that about of money.
