<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kdub @ Jul 8 2008, 12:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Ok my impressions so far... I understand why Jaycee, although putting up nice stats and active on defense... doesn't really promote team play. He drives a ton but doesn't really look to dish. He tries to get the foul, or go up with the floater. Will Conroy, on the other hand, is much different. The moment he came in, he looked for the pass first. Definitely looking for Anderson on the outside. Has some quick passing that led to a nice backdoor basket. He's very fast too. The team just plays different with Jaycee of the floor... more coordinated.</div> And yet with Conroy and the Japanese PG in, the Nets went down by more than 10. JC's not a natural PG ... Yet, but he's a BBall player and pure shooter/scorer in ways that Conroy and others in the NBA aren't.
I'm liking what i'm seeing from Swat and Lopez. Sean's got some nice moves goin from him down low now and his def. looks so much more fluent, he's not biting on pump fakes and he's rotating all over, and of course he's blocked a few shots. Lopez has been hitting some jumpers and he's not getting muscled around. I think we will be pleasently suprised this season when he have our guards actually throwing some passes into the post.
My impressions so far: Jaycee had a scorer's mentality in the first, and a distributor's in the second. Had a lot of turnovers though, as a dribbler and a passer. Pretty active on defense, and has good motor. Will Conroy is a passer. Doesn't look for his own shot. When he drives, it's too pass. Fast guy. Yuta didn't really do anything. Another fast guy. Brook is big, very big. Nice touch around the rim and from 10 feet. Sean definitely more active on offense, and he looks good. Defense looks pretty good too I think.
Sean with a nice drive around his defender from the top of the key for a layin. Does that count? Guess not, 50-38
Sean sets the pick for Jaycee, does a beautiful roll and gets open... and then waves his hands franctically and Jaycee drives the other way, not even looking at him. Ugh. Next play, Jaycee shoots, and Sean bails him out by tipping in what looked like almost an airball. Unless it was supposed to be an alley.
Brook with the soft touch inside, first with a nice lay in, and then a turn around jump hook off the glass.
From the looks of it, Brook is terrible at boxing out, and relies on his size and athleticism to get rebounds. Hell, Sean sucks at boxing out, too. I'm better at boxing out than those 2. 3ptr for CDR! sweet
56-47 Heat. Damn everytime Nets make a run, Heat end up going to the line. Brook and Sean come out for Slaughter and Toliver.
