Been a while for me. Looks like the Sixers just got a lot stronger without losing anything basically. Several teams have now gotten better in this early offseason from the East... The Raptors have improved (I am not a JO fan, but I think he will be productive and not to mention far happier in a new setting) The Knicks have improved (D'antoni is enough of an increase over Isiah...Duhon is not a bad move either) The Bulls + Heat got the 2 best players in the draft The Bucks look like a realistic 6-8 seed in the East again (Redd, RJ, Mo Will., Villanueva, Bogut, etc) Boston is still Boston, Detroit is still Detroit The Cavs are a perennial playoff team with LeBron and Co. Orlando is still a fine team in the East, Pietrus is a nice pick up as well I feel the Pacers have improved with TJ Ford and a player in Brandon Rush who I feel will be a top rookie (now they can be the running team they have wanted to become with personnel moves as well) The Hawks are a decent young team and will still make a move I am sure Where does that leave us?? .....I am very excited for the upcoming season, and I know that our final roster is far from set much like some other teams in the East. But I think it is going to be quite competitive in the "lowly" East as many saw it over recent years
honestly, its not like the nets were going to be highly competitive over the next two seasons anyway.
This is just gonna be good for us cause in two years when all these teams will not have cap room and a bunch of old players we'll be there to snag a big free agent(hopefully James).
i still honestly believe we will be a competitive team as long as Yi and our rookies get better... and i hope boone and swat emerge into solid players... i want us in the playoffs! yes i said it i want us in the PLAYOFFS... exp for the youngins

Lebron has to see it also What are the odds about next draft strength? because we're definitely going to be in the top 5.
I would be SO mad if I were a Clippers fan. He opted out to get a star for his team, they get Davis, then he ups and leaves for money. That's a shady move IMO.
Woot! Way to balance the power between the East and the West... The NBA is going to be a lot tougher next year... LA Lakers 2009 Champs East Powers: Boston, Philly, Washington, Bulls, Cavs, Detroit, Toronto, Orlando West Powers: Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, Suns, Hornets, Blazers, Utah, Denver All these teams are playoff contenders.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (jirohkanzaki @ Jul 8 2008, 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (danxcr @ Jul 8 2008, 08:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>well that makes PHILLY A LOT BETTER.... damn... toronto got better with the addition of JO... boston is the reignin champs... its knicks and nets ... and the knicks got duhon.... woAH!... and if the knicks buyout marbury hes supposedly goin to boston... hahah hope we do something cuz every team in the atlantic is competitive... except for the knicks</div> next year kobe bryant will exercise his escape clause and head to the knicks...lebron to the nets in 2010. </div> LOL... he'll never leave the Lakers
There's nothing shady about it. Brand did the smart thing. Not only did he get more money, but he also has a much better chance to win in Philadelphia than he did in LA, even with Baron Davis as a teammate.
Just when the clippers thought they took a step forward with BD they take two steps back losing Brand. haha

once again....this makes me extremely upset at our management. other teams get JO, EB, magette, soon to be posey.....we get....BOBBY SIMMONS....BRAVO NETS!! i want us to do a BIG move....im sick of this waiting game
