The Ravens need Flaco signed before July 21 and so far they don't have an agreement. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Baltimore Ravens and the representation for rookie first-rounder Joe Flacco are expected to meet again next week in an effort to work out a five-year contract. Flacco clearly understands the importance of being on time for training camp when the Ravens report July 21. The two sides opened negotiations May 12 and have met four times total. The two sides have taken steps forward with each meeting. "We're progressing," Flacco's agent Joe Linta said Tuesday. "Hopefully we can continue to make progress as we aim to get him into camp on time." The Ravens and Flacco want to ensure the rookie gets a fair chance to win the starting job in Baltimore. He will compete with Kyle Boller and Troy Smith in a three-way quarterback race. Last year a pair of first-round quarterbacks -- JaMarcus Russell of the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns' Brady Quinn -- had lengthy holdouts that affected their rookie seasons. Both players missed part or all of training camp and were trying to play catch up their entire first season.</div> link
He'll get in when he gets in. Even if he got in early or by then, he's not going to start right away anyway.
It always complicates matters when teams trade back up for a QB in the 1st round... Hey Dissonance, how's it going? How do you think your season is going to go? Boller starting? I really, really liked Ray Rice. You guys are going to have a nice backfield.

Can't blame them though. Doing all right. You? I'm actually fairly optimistic. I'm excited about John Harbaugh and what he's going to bring to this team. I don't think they'll be as bad as people think, so as long as they can stay healthy. I think Troy's going to be starting. He's looked the best so far, and it seems like they want to see what they have him in, because of how well he played late. I loved that Rice pick as well. They're going emphasize the run game more and they finally realized it's a 2 back league. Hoping the OL can gel. It's talented, just young.
I think Harbaugh will be good for the Ravens. I remember when he was at UC. As a side note, I find it hilarious that 2 former Rick Minter Cincinnati assistant coaches are now NFL Head Coaches and he has trouble keeping a job.

I got it mixed up with what Atlanta did. Oops. What misinformation did the Texans give the Ravens? I missed that. I hope Troy does start for you guys. I loved watching him in college. And Gaithers' getting ready to start with Ogden retiring, right? Grubbs is at LG? or RG?

Then again, I don't think he'll get in late to where couldn't start later on. Also, depends on how the season goes.

When they were talking they told him that they think someone's going to take him before 26, which was not true. None of those teams were even looking at QB between there. Yeah, I did, too. I think he could surprise some people to where it might keep Flacco on the bench this yr. I think they'll give Gaither a shot first. Luckily, the team has some versatility. Marchal Yanda can play either tackle spot, or center. Adam Terry who could play RT or LT as well. Grubbs can play either guard position, but they recently shifted him to LG in mini camps. But a lot can still happen.

Speaking of UC, I really hope Haruki Nakamura makes the team. That kid gives his all every single play.
And it is done http://sportstwo.com/NFL/Story/NFL/2637080 First-round draft pick Joe Flacco has agreed to terms on a five-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, ESPN.com reported on Wednesday. The quarterback's agent, Joe Linta, said the deal can be worth up to $30 million, with $8.75 million guaranteed, according to the report. The 6-7, 236-pound Flacco will battle Troy Smith and Kyle Boller for the Ravens' starting quarterback slot. "The most important part of this contract is that it is done before July 21," Linta said. "They're excited, Joe's excited, I'm excited. I don't know anybody that is not excited." Baltimore selected Flacco, a two-year starter at Delaware after transferring from Pittsburgh, with the 18th overall pick in the draft. Flacco completed 331-of-521 passes for 4,263 yards with 23 touchdowns and five interceptions with the Blue Hens last season.
Good for him, getting into camp on time....times sure have changed though, almost $9mil guaranteed for a mid-1st round pick....most Hall of Famers didnt make that in thier careers....
Already a great start for his career. No holdout and the possibility of competing for starter, what more can you ask for? But I doubt we'll be seeing him on the field anything this year except maybe the last few games if we tank this year, which I hope doesn't happen.
