I seriously don't understand what Thornki's trying to do here. I understand they're trying to stay competitive, but at what expense? I mean, I know Camby is only speculation. But signing Najera would only give an extra non-rookie wing for Frank to rely on. Do we really want that? Do we really want a mediocre player such as Najera taking minutes away from CDR and Anderson? With Najera there, it seems likely Frank won't even give the rookies much of a chance.
Why do we need more PFs? Especially mediocre ones at that. I'd rather give those minutes to a developing guy than go out of my way to really jam up that depth chart.

I don't see him as much of a downgrade from Nocioni and most people on here are for adding him. They're both super competitive players who do all the dirty work and make smart basketball plays. I think it's a nice addition for the overall demeanor of this team. I don't really believe he'll hinder CDR's floor time and will push Anderson, Simmons, and Hassell to step it up and earn the PT they get. Camby's an amazing team player and would do wonders with our young bigs to give them blueprints to follow for their careers.

Can defend and shoot the 3. I don't see Najera as that.

Also epic fail on the pun title.. it's EE not Yee. As for Najera, he's like a glue guy. Depend on how much we're paying him.
Seems like Dave is down on everything the Nets are doing. I sense Al is a little too. I can see them sulking as they type their columns. All seems a bit premature. Yes, the team that came out of nowhere and went to back to back Finals is gone. Get over it. I have hopes for Yi. Not a fan of Najera considering how many bigs we have. Bye, bye Nenad if that happens. Maybe it's a ploy to get Nenad to sign the offer? Maybe its one of those "if you don't take it we'll give it to Eduardo" kind of moves. Najera seems pretty close to Boone, as far as what he brings.

Especially ones with * I guess if you're a mediocre writer sulking, it works to use puns to make fun of foreigners. Was worth more than his insight on basketball.
I never take anything Dave says seriously. He is trying desperately to be the next Bill Simmons with his little witty comments and its failing, miserably.
I am disgusted by this news. NAJERA??? NAJERA??!! this guy cant start on any team in the nba! All he brings is hustle. I rather see matt barnes or mason jr in the starting lineup than this bum. Nets are all about marketing now.

Bill Simmons is another one of those guys that love to make fun of foreigners. Hey, if I was a no talent writer, I would too, it's easy and foreigners don't fight back. Camby is a #1 pick overall, he never got good until he was 30 years old. Isn't that a bigger story than dissing a tired rookie that played entire 12 months of basketball?

They're both great energy/attitude guys, though. Camby would be a real coup for this team. Good rebounder, will help with the push to have the team to play at a fast pace, and it sounds like we probably wouldn't need to give up anything with too much value, just expirings and a guy or two from the Marcus/Boone/Swat poo-poo platter. Plus, his contract expires just in time for the 2010 sweepstakes.
The only reason I see Thorn and Kiki bring Najera is to make these young guys work in practice. As far as Camby, I dont see why you do this. Maybe for the same reason as above, but if he is going to take time away from the young guys no thanks.

Ford's talking about how he's been down on foreigners lately, cause there is so much risk in taking them. Simmons shoots back that Ford's got Kosta Koufos ranked in his top 10 or 15 or something. Ford goes, "Uhh, Koufos was born in Canton, raised in Ohio and went to Ohio State. What about that is foreign?" Simmons was blown away.
