I know this is somewhat a big question on our team, Vince i feel is going to be a good teacher especially after hearing about him at our summer league games, but someone i think that's being forgotten is Bobby Simmons. Whether he stays healthy or not, he is a good charecter guy. He works hard and was a guy who had to make it the hard way in the NBA, I think our rooks will learn alot from him.

I also just watched the Yi press conference and again i was impressed with the comments about him staying after practice and helping Yi with his game and getting adjusted to NBA life.

True, he will be a veteran that will be a mentor, but Carter is the main one because he is the superstar who can lead by example and he has been a Net for some time.

Not trying to diss Carter, but it seems to me that Bobby's the harder worker..

Oh I'll disagree with you on that one, why wouldn't Vince Carter by the hardest working guy on the team?

i have a gut feeling, nothing more, but i think Simmons will have a good year this year. 2 years after surgury, and playing on an unselfish team will help him greatly. I think he plays 20 to 28 minutes and becomes a double figure scorer, plus he is another guy who knows how to play defense.

I feel that leadership is overated in the NBA because all the play making starts with the coaches and the poing huard. What does hurt chemistry the most is players leaving and going, as seen with the Mavs. When team wins all of a sudden this person is a great leader and hard worker but if the team loses this guy is soft and is a horrible leader. Nobody ever says you are a good leader if you are on a losing team.

I like simmons but I'm not feeling a good year because nothing he did last year made me think he could once again be a starter in this league. Hes not the same player he used to be and I think he'll be forced into starting and find himself either injured or getting trenton hassel minutes by the end of the season. He works hard but honestly do you think he'll ever come close to averaging 17 points a game again? I feel he'll basically have the same season he had last year. In the NBA its hard for aging players to come back out of no where. Hes a good 6th man for the rest of his career in my opion. you may think im being a pesstimistic but really i'm just trying to be realistic here.
