I havent been impressed. Id rather have Marcus, and Im clearly the leader of the Marucs Williams hate club
Like most players, he may work out if Sean can turn into the Camby rim protector we think he can. But he hasnt shown enough of an offensive game to me.
so i guess your a fan of conroy, hodge or yuta. they all are just all star basketball players and so much better than Carroll.

Conroy is a natural, pass-first PG, which helps the team more than Carroll. Not to say that he's better than Carroll, the verdict's still out on that one...it's just that he has the better skills for his size and position.
If Carroll continues his play, he deserves an invitation to camp, but I highly doubt that he will make the team. I mean, he's been dominating D-leagures people. Come on. But I would not mind an invite to camp.
He looked worse than he was because he ran the point the first two games. I loved what I saw yesterday, coming off the bench and just scoring.
He has nothing to do with Marcus. He won't play back-up point. Team is going to go after someone with more experience for that. If they bring him in it's just to be a sharpshooter off the bench. Which we don't have other than Anderson.

Why can't Jaycee do exactly what Eddie House did at a fraction of the price?</div> He can... and they won't need to rely on him as much as they did Eddie. Eddie was a key rotation guy. Carroll would be more of a specialist. Like when Eddie first came into the league.

So he has a defined role that the Nets need filled and he appears very capable of filling it - for almost no money. Sounds like a smart move keeping him around. Everyone focuses too much on what a player can't do. If he can do the things the team needs, what is the issue?

I like Carroll to line up in the back court (in limited minutes) with Vince when Harris is on the bench or at times when the Nets offense needs some punch. He wouldn't have to guard the much bigger 2 guards and wouldn't have to play the point, since Vince can do both of those things. Then he can focus on the things he does really well, like moving to open spots and shooting and taking the occasional drive when it presents itself. And imagine the luxury of having a guy like him to bring in for a last possession with the team down 3. I concur 100% that he is a cheap sharpshooter/Eddie House type except that I believe he will be a more consistent shooter than House, given his percentages in college. The guy can flat out stroke it.
Listen, I like Carroll's play, but remember this is just SL. Summer league success does not translate to NBA success. I still recomend the Nets inviting him to camp, and then see how he fairs against the other NBA players. Try him out in a couple of preseason games, but keeping him on the roster is a stretch.
Judging by the box score, it sure seems like Carroll and Conroy both outplayed the great hype, Russell Westbrook, yesterday. Westbrook went 2 for 13 from the field. That will prove to be an idiotic pick by the Sonics.

Westbrook took a fall and landed on his head during that game. Game 1: He went for 18 pts, 5 asts, and 1 steal in 30 min Game 2: 19/3/3 in 24 min Game 3: 10/3/1 in 26 min I think he'll be okay. Still think #4 was a bit high for him to go, but he's going to be a solid player.
I'm sure he'll be okay, but #4 was way too high. Sonics could have traded down and got more value, they could have gotten Love or Bayless, or gotten a guy like Chalmers later in the draft. All those guys will be better than Westbrook. I bet CDR will be better than Westbrook.
