Bayonne Bridge into the river seems more romantic than off the TP onto the highway.

cool. there's actually a basketball court under the Bayonne Bridge as well. maybe I'll just dive head first into that.

but seriously, I don't understand this (potential) signing. We should be working hard on getting Noiconi and/or Dooling.

Dooling is the only FA that deserves a multi-year contract from us.

Definitely don't favor this signing unless the Nets have a deal in place to move Hassell.

Najera far from sucks but I think Rod's got a real nice plan up his sleeve and we'll end up very happy come day 1 of training camp. Say what you will about Eduardo, he's a positive, smart, hard working, never takes a play off kind of player and that's something that will benefit any team he's on. It's also something we really need infused in this team and an excellent example set for everyone in practice.

I would pass on him, better choices out there for the 3.

I think the thing is the Nets already have plenty of players that can play the 3 and 4.

Like who? I mean I like Matt Barnes but Najera is better. The Free Agent options at the 3 are dwindling. And while some may argue Najera plays well at the 4 where he can beat bigs with speed and hustle he can't at the 3, he never stops moving and would be a nice scrappy edition to our squad. Nearly the majority of the Nets we have at this point are finesse far more than blue collar. That doesn't mean we're not scrappy or that we don't try but legit tough guys is something we haven't seen in a while. Najera is one tough dude who's extended his range to the NBA 3, what more could ya want?

I dont see him becoming a 4 here, I rather we re-sign Boki to play the 3.

Matt Barnes is so much better than Najera, its not even funny. Barnes plays very strong defense, he can guard SF/SG/PG and he can hit the three. The Nets already have a million guys to play PF. They need a guy who can guard wings. Barnes can do that. Najera is not fast enough to do that. And you want to talk about hard working blue collar type player? Barnes is that. Heck, he worked his way from the NBDL.

Simmons is the only one on this team who at least plays some kind of defense from the wing position and I'm not even comfortable with him. This potential signing sucks on so many different levels. I appreciate what Kiki is doing in regards to rebuilding the roster with younger players with potential but this is going to fall squarely on the negative column.

I think you're forgetting about Frank's annual attempts at being Don Nelson. He'll get some 4 minutes, I guarantee it. As far as Boki goes, i'd take Najera over him any day of the week but that's clearly just my personal preference.

Yes, we do have a number of players who can fill in at the 3 but adding smart basketball players to a young team is always a benefit, even if we have a bit of a logjam currently. That will either be sorted out this summer or by the deadline, as long as the players we keep bringing in are quality guys we're gonna be in great shape.

LOL at saying Don Nelson and Frank in the same sentence.

I dont see Najera being a 4 i dont. I see him as a 3 here and i would take Boki over him, but thats just what i think.

I dont want to see Najera take time away from Our Young players.

I enjoy Barnes alot and I agree with your assessment of him fully and have drafted him on my fantasy teams every year because of his well rounded skill set. I loved what he did on Golden State but there's a reason there is a cluster of teams looking for Eduardo and waiting on Matt, he's the quintessential glue guy. I think Rod believes we already have our Barnes in CDR and will probably add a combo guard via trade so we can stay big and create mismatches in a more grind it out style.
