The Clippers just renounced the rights to Shaun Livingston. I know he's coming off surgery and has never been able to stay healthy, but he's still very young, and he's shown flashes of being an outstanding player in the league. PJax has always coveted tall PG's to play in the Triangle and at 6'7 Livingston would be an ideal fit. I'd prefer the Lakers take a flyer on him and give the opportunity to make the team ahead of this year's pick, Coby Karl, and some of the other camp invitees we've had. Worst case scenario he never recovers from his surgery and the Lakers simply waive him. Best case scenario he does recover in the next two seasons and eventually takes over Fisher's spot in the starting lineup.
I wouldn't mind him on our summer league roster... Shape, did you know James White is gonna play for us in the summer league? I remember a while back you said you'd take White over JR Smith

I was disappointed when the Spurs cut James White, citing he struggled learning their offense and wasn't giving the energy on the defensive end Pop was demanding. Those are two areas he'd have to focus on if he wanted to make the Laker roster. Hopefully his experience in San Antonio humbled him and he embraces the opportunity he's getting to play with the Lakers and possibly make the roster.

I like the thought of Shaun Livingston. I've been a fan of his since he came out to the NBA as it is, and he definitely fits the need in the triangle. He's tall, has great vision and is a phenomenal passer. If we can sign him for cheap and he ends up recovering from that horrific knee surgery, we'd wind up getting a huge steal with that.

Granted Rajon Rondo showed us that a PG doesn't need to shoot well to succeed. I just think in the triangle he has everything except for the jumpshot.
He's slow, he can't shoot, and he can't jump. He's no good basically, that's why not IMO. Besides, the Lakers have a Livingston clone in Cedric Bozeman in their Summer league team
