    Link.

This is a talented guy who was very, very good for the Chargers.

However, he was benched last season for some perceived attitude problems and he has had a couple of drug suspensions.

He was actually suspended for the first four games of this upcoming season, but the suspension was recinded allowing him to sign.

I don't see a report anywhere about the type of drug he tested positive for, but he spent time in a drug treatment center this offseason - so it was something he was dependent on.

I believe the wording that the Chargers GM used was that Olivea had "lost his fire."

I like this signing as a low risk, high reward type move. We aren't tied down too much financially and there's the odd chance that Olivea returns to form in his hometown. At the very least, he provides some depth just in case we aren't as lucky as last season when it comes to the health of our O-line.

That GM drafts well, but tends to get too crazy otherwise. 14-2 and he fires Shottenheimer? If they never win a SB with Tomlinson, he will never live that down. "Lost his fire"? Yeah right. Good pickup by the Giants.

I'm never sure what to blame on the GM or on the ownership. I've heard the ownerships equally, if not more, f'd up.

YES, best signing of offseason, does this mean that Dave can finally move back to guard.
